This is of course a subjective debate. You're comparing two players from different teams who played in different eras who aren't the same size and played different positions. I would argue that Michael Jordan was a much better all-around player.

Let's look at career stats.

Michael Jordan's career stats:

Lebron James' career stats:

Looking at their career stats you see that Michael Jordan averaged more Field Goals Per Game, Free Throws Per Game, Steals Per Game and Points Per Game. Lebron James averaged more 3-pointers Per Game, Total Rebounds Per Game and Assists Per Game.

One could say that the stats comparison is a case of apples and oranges. Each player had their strengths. In terms of leading their team to championships Michael Jordan was 6 for 6 winning every championship every time his team went to the NBA Finals. Lebron James is currently 3 for 7 in the NBA Finals. Lebron's legacy is still being written but Michael Jordan with more championship wins and never losing in the NBA Finals clearly has the advantage. Personally I believe that if Jordan hadn't retired twice the Chicago Bulls could have won 8 or even 10 championships in a row. You have to remember that Jordan was in his prime when the Bulls had won 3 championships the first time then he retired and played Baseball after his father was killed. If he had stayed active and not had that tragedy I think he would have continued to lead the Bulls to championships until he retired for good.

Bullshit.

I can tell you as someone who watched the Bulls growing up and winning, Jordan carried that team all six years... much more valuable than Lebron.

Sure Pippen was good.. but not superstar status either. There were some other key role players like Grant and Rodman.... but Lebron had Wade and Bosh in Miami and has Love and Irving in Cleveland.. much better supporting cast.

I mean that whole super team circus says enough for me.

The year Jordan retired the Bulls went from 52 to 50 wins. Jordan always had good teams when he made it to the finals..

Jordan is superior player than Lebron almost in all aspects expect athleticism, passsing, playmaking, and rebounding. That's about it edge wise for Lebron. Lebron is mental midget has no killer instinct and is huge front runner beta. Jordan would destroy Lebron mentally before the game even started.

Do people still really believe this? Lol

Yes, I do. Lebron has always needed closer in his career to win championships with Wade and Kyrie this isn't a knock against him all around player Lebron is in top 3-5ish players ever however he lacks killer instinct and the will to win ala Kobe and Jordan had, he doesn't have those intangibles.

You must have missed him scoring 30 out the last 31 points against Shittroit and game 6 versus the Celts and him willing his team back into game 6 of the Fernals before Ray hit that shot and him making shats from every which angle in game 7.

would be nice if LBJ won a couple more rings, made the conversation more interesting.

Unfortunately the Raptors incoming dynasty will thwart those dreams but its fun to imagine.

I've seen Lebron play his whole career he shows flashes like against Boston that was Jordan lite but Lebron has no consistency you can't rely on him in the clutch he rather pass than take last second shot. Lebron was terrible in last two minutes against the Spurs luckily Ray Allen balled him out and made most clutch shot in NBA history.

Went from 57 to 55 regular season wins. That's a nominal number. In real terms, they went from a 3-peat dynasty with Jordan to a team that couldn't even get out of the second round without Jordan.

Jordan nor Kobe would ever act like this as fierce competitors you'll ever meet in sports.

Lebron however on other hand..

Chillez why the hell are you talking about Kobe. This thread is about Jordan and LeBron, mentioning Kobe itt is a slap in the face to both of them
