This was in Pride FC. the literal PED org that encouraged its fighters to take as much as they could.

It is naive to think his opponents weren't using just because you kids love Sakuraba so much. It was an even playing field. Pride lovers are the first to say this, except when one of their favorites is questioned. LOL.

Why do people call other grown men kids?

If it their 2nd fight were in Pride you'd have a point, but it was in Los Angeles at a K-1 Dynamite show.

If both fighters are allowed to use steroids it's a level playing field.
But they weren't. They were tested.

Royce tested positive... And soared past the limit.
Sakuraba tested negative.
Not a level playing field.

Those tests were scheduled in advance. All I see is one guy properly cycled while the other didn't.

Yep. And it was all pre-youtube too.

Waiting for the time delay Pride PPVs to start were the easiest part of it all.

How could Royce be so powerful then, but so puny just two years later when he faced Hughes?
To answer my own question perhaps the 7 year age gap made a big difference.
