David vs Goliath and modern MMA

Let's keep the biblical stories in the fiction category where they belong.

Do you discount the other texts of this time too for emotional reasons? Especially historically accepted texts with multi party corroboration?

Maybe you come from the people who didn't know how to maintain written accounts.

Alright lol. What exactly offended you?

It’s rare in modern mma but GSP v Bisping was somewhat like that

Frame-wise GSP could’ve fought at LW & Bisping at LHW

And it was a hard fought victory for GSP too bad his vacating immediately after with 0 defenses tainted the achievement somewhat

I'd like to pressure test your theory re: modern weapons

-- slingshit
-- brass knuckles
-- bear spray
-- pepper spray
-- tasers
-- lasers
-- flashbangs

what is your opinion of these. message me.
I think I'll pick the slingshit. I mean, even if I get knocked out later, at least I can spray some shit onto the face of my opponent. That, in my opinion, is worth me getting knocked out.

In Sumo wrestling the fighters are of an extremely comparable skill level, they have a complicated and very well-established ranking system with six ranked divisions that you can move up and down in, not dissimilar to the ranking or rating system of the English football league system. Currently in the highest division (Makuuchi), their weights range from 115kg (254 pounds) to 200kg (441 pounds). In the second highest division, Juryo, they range from 99kg (218 pounds) to 254kg (560 pounds).

The way there can be such a huge weight difference between fighters in these different ranked divisions is at least some good evidence that you can be competitive versus a much larger opponent when you are of a similar skill level in a fighting sport.

I think there's something uniquely interesting how Sumo has remained open-weight, despite it being accepted as some kind of general principle by many fight fans that all fighting sports should be divided into handicapped divisions, and even heavyweight has this ridiculous upper limit of 265 pounds (120kg). How you gonna be a goliath when you're 120kg? Yeah they're big fellas but they ain't no goliaths.
