Law enforcement is most obese profession - study

For sure. We run a 24 hour 4 man, so that gives us a nice amount of overtime, and shorter weeks kinda.
It's got its advantages, but man I'm beat by the end of my rotation. First day off is practically hibernation. Lucky firefighters and their 7 days a month schedule.

Hey some of those criminals are dangerous and on crack, you got to able to pin those fuckers down

I switch between 0700-1800 and 2000-0700 right now. Next month I switch to 1500-0200 for the whole summer.

we usually work the midnight to noon shift. Switches back and forth form 0000 to 1200 or 1200 to 2400.

Graveyard shift is the worse, i can never adjust to it.

That is probably the worst schedule I have ever worked. No sense of normalcy at all.

Wow, they really are in constant danger every day. #diabetes #heartattack #killedbyweakchair

This study doesn't surprise me. Having run the fitness program for 2 weeks in college for the police officers foundations program, they couldn't complete the warm up i throw 12-14 year old beginner wrestlers through. However, officers coming from a university degree background tend to be of better shape and mind and handle bad situations better. I'm willing to bet there is some form of psychosocial link between the two institutions and what makes them decide on what type of education. There is a large responsibility and disparity between the two.

When you put security guards in there with officers it sort of skews the results in a negative manner. My friend who is obese cannot pass the physical to be a police officer, he is a security guard.
