Well, Trump calls the massacre an "act of pure evil." So that's good.

Is that known true or a rumor? This guy also may have told a neighbor that he was a professional gambler, which he wasn't.
It's a fact. His dad was a bank robber, and was on the FBI's Top Ten list after he broke out of jail. But, it's just something to talk about, and is in no way related to the crime(seemingly). According to the brother they never actually knew their father at all.

Bitter divorce angle is out the window - he divorced 27 yrs ago.

HIs roomate was in Philippines at the time? Did she leave him and move home/away? Police talked to her and she was cleared already.

When 9/11 occurred, I immediately thought it was Russia due to our involvement in the Cold War and our exploits with arming the Mujahideen.

I didn't have a full grasp of the geopolitical situation, but I was curious and knew broad strokes.

Some kids are just smart, it's not that out of the ordinary.

I was a big kid but I wasn't very aggressive and I started playing football in 1990. So when we were doing hitting drills I guess I was being to nice. So the coach gets in my face and yells "WHo do you hate Polish? Think about who you hate and imagine them when you're hitting."

I told him I hated Saddam Hussein and he got a puzzled look on his face because this 30 year old construction worker from NE Philly had no Idea who I was talking about.

He asked me who Saddam Hussein was and at 5 years old I explained that he was the evil dictator of Iraq who invaded Kuwait.

right, but i dont think even THAT would be required to pull this off. hes shooting into a giant F'ing crowd of people from an elevated position. its amazing that even more werent killed. if you can pull the trigger, you can do this. you dont need to be the american sniper.
But some dumb fuks might think to shoulder fire this weapon. None of my neighbors around me would be johnny on the spot with any of this. But yeah some grandpa produces the greatest US soil shooting in history. Better then a marine corps rifleman from the Texas town shooter and better then the recent military veteran with the dallas police. Yup anyone can do this jackass, but go figure the geriatric rookie from no where did it best.

Some kids...clearly not you.

Yeah who knows at this point? I also said it could very well be mental illness given his age. We'll have to wait and see.

From listening to the footage of the attack, Ayoob said that the gunshots “did not sound as consistent” as he would typically expect from a fully automatic M-16 or AK-47. “The pace of fire is a little bit erratic. At one point it’s slower than it is at another point.”

Paddock could have used a Hellfire or a bump-fire device, which attach to normal semi-automatic rifles and allow them to fire more rapidly, Ayoob said. These devices are legal, but rarely used by serious shooters, he said.

“It’s hard to shoot accurately with them, and serious shooters want accuracy,” he said. He called them “not terribly popular” and “something a gun geek would want”.

For the Las Vegas shooter, though, the accuracy of these devices would not have mattered, since he was “hosing a two-acre area with 30,000 targets,” nearly every shot he fired would have hit someone.

On its website, Bump Fire Systems advertises the device as permitting “simulated full-auto firing” that is “absolutely legal”. It sells Bump Fire stocks for $99.99.

The Hellfire system uses a hand-operated crank to hit the trigger of the gun more rapidly than a person could fire it, Ayoob said, which could explain apparent changes in the pace of the fire.

Ayoob said he knew of only one previous incident in which a legally owned fully automatic gun was used in a murder. When fully automatic guns do show up in crimes, they have often been stolen, he said.

To be honest it's amazing this kind of thing doesn't happen more often with all the wackos out there and easy access to heavy firepower. And that's not a statement endorsing more gun control, just an observation. Renting a hotel room 30 floors above where thousands of people are gathering and just opening fire, wow.

Or he illegally modified the weapons.

Father part is true. He could also be a professional gambler in that he played $100/hand poker. I mean what makes up a professional gambler - you play a lot and it's your only source of income?

Weird thing is his game is supposedly video poker. Pro's gotta play the tables where the fish are.
