When 9/11 occurred, I immediately thought it was Russia due to our involvement in the Cold War and our exploits with arming the Mujahideen.

I didn't have a full grasp of the geopolitical situation, but I was curious and knew broad strokes.

True. He obviously knew to be way high up in the hotel room because at least half the people at a country music concert are carrying. Just imagine if the Orlando shooter opened fire in a country western bar instead of a gay night club, he would have been dead within the first minute and probably 10 people would have been killed instead of 50, and half of those 10 people would have been killed in the line of fire if not 9 out of 10 of them.

Agreed. And there will also be plenty of people simply trying to paint a coherent picture of how this occurred. Not all speculation is malicious in intent. Some is just natural curiosity about such a horrible event and the relatively unusual nature of the criminal that caused. By unusual, I mean not fitting the normal demographic of young male mostly. Even you have to admit it's strange given his relative age and what little we know so far.

I'd like to point out the amazing job that Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the first responders did in the midst of this chaos.

This department recently took national heat for the horseshit Michael Bennett claim, yet this tragedy was a testament to a department who swiftly gathered intelligence and effectively aided the victims on the ground.

Living in Las Vegas, my Facebook feed is littered with people who were at Route 91, and there is an overwhelming appreciation from those AT the concert for the police department and how they handled the nightmare.

Go ahead and call me a bootlicker. But I think it's only fair that if you want to bash a department for negative incidences (or even falsely reported negative incidences), you should praise them for a job well done. And this was one of them.

Good point, not really a big fan of the police but fair play to them, the paramedics and all the hospital staff
