Why are people speculating how he got the stuff into the hotel? Very easily.
I have never, ever, ever had my bags checked at a hotel. Especially something as busy as Mandalay Bay, they don't have time to check for shit.

I so think that this is gonna cause metal detectors and scanners at major hotels now though. Staying at a hotel will be like going to the airport

The big Hotels/Casinos on the strip will def. introduce luggage scans from now on.

Yea I hope not, maybe just a xray scanners at all door ways where you can see sometime of huge ass AR gun and have security intervene. I think the best way is to carry on tourist business as normal there. The strip always has events and crowds so it's not like he did something that no one with those intentions couldn't think of.

The guy could have bought a suppressor if he wanted one anyway. He had a clean record and clearly had the money to spare. Plus if the gun really was full-auto, he'd already gone through the tax stamp process anyway. So I'm not sure what the argument about suppressors is supposed to be.

I dont think the country music concert should be the focal point of the incident in the sense that it could've be any event taking place at that venue that would've been targeted. unfortunately wrong event at the wrong time.

Not to say he obviously didnt look up what was playing that night prior to, and obviously planned this out knowing there would be a concert at the time. That much weaponry, that specific room / area of the hotel -- that venue location...he planned this for a bit.
