I watched a couple of YouTube shorts and that was enough.

See not only is this movie bad because it stunk

But they had the rights to Kraven and the Venom movie basically had no real villain. I mean… Venom had those giant dog things. They sucked.

Give Kraven an Australian accent and say he’s only ethnically Russian. Maybe have a Russian grand dad.

Then have him hunt Venom! Ffs! Have him hunting him around shooting him and battling him with gadgets.

“Crikey! This one’s a big one! He’s not responding to the tranquilizer, maybe something bigger!”

Instead of making 2 flops they could have made 1 decent movie

"I still don't understand, because the film is not a bad film." - clueless Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra in regards to the abysmal launch of Kraven, the worst launch Sony Pictures has had since he became CEO in 2017.

I mean, how much does this dumbass get paid to be a dumbass? Sign me up for half his salary and I'll save you a lot of money, @SonyPictures.

Spider-Man villain, Kraven the Hunter, in his own film without Spider-Man in which Kraven's the hero. Just stupid. Like Venom. Like Madame Web. Like Morbius. Bad decisions that create bad movies that are previewed by bad trailers.... Weird. Just a lotta bad there.

Keep spamming those Spider-Man spinoffs without one of the Spider-Mans. Stupid, Sony, stupid.

They can afford to but why do it? Aren't they talking in meetings? Hey these movies we're making are kinda shit, eh?
I suppose they figure if one sticks to the wall it will be worth it.
Well, wait, correction, that only appears to be half the answer.

The other half appears to be sanitorium-level delusion at the top:
Kraven bombed at the box office with a paltry $11 million domestic haul from 3,211 theatres during launch weekend. That figure was enough to set an unwanted record: the worst ever opening for a Sony Spider-Man Universe movie...In an interview with the LA Times, outgoing Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra described Kraven the Hunter as “probably the worst launch we had in the seven-and-a-half years” since he took the job, before going on to express his surprise at the film’s disappointing box office haul: “so that didn’t work out very well, which I still don’t understand, because the film is not a bad film.”

“Madame Web underperformed in the theaters because the press just crucified it,” Vinciquerra claimed. “It was not a bad film, and it did great on Netflix.
For some reason, the press decided that they didn’t want us making these films out of Kraven and Madame Web, and the critics just destroyed them. They also did it with Venom, but the audience loved Venom and made Venom a massive hit. These are not terrible films. They were just destroyed by the critics in the press, for some reason.

Facepalm.
Now i sorta understand how those meeting go: "hey it's a great movie right? right?"

Watched it on streaming.

Jesus it was fucking terrible. I generally like Aaron Taylor Johnson but he was so horrendously miscast in this.

Zero menace from him as Kraven. The comparison between his performance and the menace and actual fear that the PS5 Spidey game voice actor conveys is just night and day.

Movie was just boring as hell too. Story was garbage and it barely kept any semblance of attention from me.

Rhino looked horrendous, the CGI was atrocious

Sony really regretting not buying the rest of Marvel when they had a chance

Just watched it I dint see what the whole controversy is I’ve seen far worse movies from Marvel or Sony ,in fact at least it made an attempt to be a real movie outside the crazy silly tines marvel turned into .

Fight scenes were very good the death of the Rhino could have been more dramatic and the CGI wasn’t good with the animals but. It didn’t ruin the movie . The ending was fun with the Chameleon a very unpopular SpiderMan villain .

I found it refreshing from the Disney tone look at how Russell Crow portrayed his character vs Zeus in Love and Thunder it looks like The Godfather in comparison. An unpopular opinion but I’d rather watch Kraven then Wolverines and Deadpool which was good but ( WAY to over the top humor even talking to the viewers) Not fir me it’s more a novelty film because it’s Wolverine and Deadpool in the same movie together,I’d rather a solid film without the satirical humor …that’s just me .

I give it a solid 7.5 .

The movie could have been GREAT. terrible acting and the story was a mess.. it was a fun popcorn flick as is but could of been so much better.

This actually sounds not bad!

Thanks for taking one for the team. Between Dragonlord's review and yours,

if I feel the need to see ATJ in a comic book movie I'll rewatch Bullet Train.

LOL he can't even fathom that films are bad. Venom did better overall because some people just want alien symbiote stuff and the plot barely matters.

Did our studio shit the bed?

No, it's the press and the fans who are wrong!

Shit, I see its streaming too. Its that bad?
It barely held my attention. Like barely.

ATJ is just horribly miscast. He doesn’t have any of the presence or menace the character is supposed to have. I mean even the Spider-Man show from the 90s that version has more menace than he does.

Storyline sucks, acting mostly sucks and the CGI is pretty god awful.

It was definitely worse than Venom The Last Dance, and that was a pretty low bar for me.
