I train mma and i went to krav maga place just to see what all the hype was about.
Needless to say I wasnt overly impressed. They dont train hard enough and realistically enough to fully implement the techniques they show.
Honestly a good mma gym which competes in local shows will show you everything they show but with a greater emphasis and more "realistic" training.
I mean if you train muay thai stand-up (as we do in my gym) and can land inside low kicks on trained fighters with ease, dont you think it would be just as easy to land kicks to the groin?
In fact a thai fighter would do this easier as they do this is a "live" sparring sessions. Not coreographed routines.
Honestly the best martial art is mma, but just add all the illegal techniques (biting if need be, headbuts, eye gouges, kicks/knees to the groin) as in competing in mma gets you is supurb condition, with good hand eye coordination, and the toughness to know you can take blows.
Just add some gun and knife defense (not disarms, but defending yourself) and your gtg.
