K-Pop/J-Pop Kpop/Jpop Music Station Thread

One of my favorite Japanese group called 'Circus'. First video is from a TV performance in 1978. The second is the reunion concert in 2017. @Fork @Oku

Barberettes covering the legendary Tian Mi Mi:

not exactly kpop and would fit better in the old korean indie thread, but the excellent Se So Neon is back with a new album Go Back:

great funky sound and So Yoon's distinctive vocals are fantastic and her falsetto really suits the song.

Only did a search on "banana lemon" but might be posted earlier in the thread.

miyu takeuchi (no relation) getting into the city pop game:

[Update] Singer and actress Sulli found dead - The Korean Herald

jesus, that's awful. she was great in f(x), just had a great solo release, and maybe more importantly was a pretty public figure on the right side of a cultural movement in korea.

it's obviously early to say for sure, but i'd be surprised if this didn't have anything to do with all of the negative comments she received.

I'm at a loss for words of what happened.... R.I.P. Sulli

I viewed a bunch of videos of her today and read a lot more about her. She seemed like a sensitive artistic free spirit. So terribly sad that she was bullied online by ignorant hateful cowards. I truly hope some good will come out of this tragedy. Perhaps some anti-bullying laws that protect these artists. No one in the entertainment field, no matter how popular, should suffer such abuse. May she rest in peace.

Miyu Takeuchi's korean city pop release:

standout recent release for me though has been Lim Kim's Yellow:

lim kim continuing with her reinvention she started with Sal-Ki. imo this is an improvement and although she's always had a unique voice and i love her early stuff like Awoo (one of the best of 2015), i also really appreciate her new style. good, weird in-your-face rap about asian pride, individuality, and feminism with a fantastic MV.
