Kpop/Jpop Music Station Thread

YUKIKA back at it with another retro release:

starts off with an acoustic bit but then jumps right in to the retro style that follows NEON nicely. and the MV is amazing. only knew Yukika briefly from MixNine and from her association with Sori, but she's had a great start as a soloist and i never would have expected her to go with this style.

Such sad news for today. Mina is having some trouble with insecurities and anxiety mostly in regard to performing on stage apparently and last week she was not able to attend music station or teen festa with Pocari.
But the news today is only more bad. Mina wont be performing in the upcoming Twicelights date(s) as she is said to be at home recovering with her family and JYP Entertainment is consulting specialist.

yeah, it does suck to see that, but at least it's being treated seriously. i actually think she probably has a pretty good support system, and i'd trust JYP to deal with a situation like this better than some agencies.

Severe anxiety is really a terrible thing to experience. Hopefully she'll pull through this soon and reunite with the girls. Get well soon Minari

meant to post earlier, but Sori's comeback with I Am Not Alone:

this is another one of the best of the year imo, and it's too bad that it hasn't gotten more attention and that it might be Sori's last comeback.

NMB48 released a MV earlier from their newest single "Bokou e Kaere!" which is set to be released on August 14th.

Concept video of Juri's first K-pop group. Looks pretty interesting. Can't wait to see more.

Itzy, Icy. First comeback filmed in LA I think?

Not a fan of the song, like the video but JYP certainly isn't the Asian soul any more.

agreed, ITZY isn't doing it for me the way TWICE does.

Yeah I just don't get the concept or the sort of messy music sound...

I hear people say it's like girl crush for younger teens, but I don't know the songs just jump around from hook to another hook for me and it doesn't really work. I think I'm kinda disappointing with the song because 1, the video is cool and the onscreen graphics are giving me Sistar Shake It feels(but the song isn't) and 2, the producers who worked on Icy have such a good back catalog.

Wonder Girls Yeeun (HA:TFELT) with another great release:

carrying on the string of great solo releases from former WG members.

Woolim's new GG just debuted. I was left satisfied of how good the debut track is. It's very catchy. :p

agreed. i think Everglow still has the best debut of all the post-PD48 groups, but i'd put this at second place ahead of La Vie En Rose. good stuff, lots of energy and really catchy, and unless i missed it they wisely avoided putting in a rap break.

as a new englander i also appreciate the red sox styling as opposed to the typical yankees stuff.

speaking of Everglow, teaser for their upcoming MV:

gonna be tough to follow up Bon Bon Chocolat, but definitely looking forward to this.

just saw this uploaded from producer Robbin and singer 5Joo:

wish they had toned down the "cuteness" in some of her vocals, but i love the beat and the simplicity of the song overall.

Let's Go To See The Flowers, also from that album, is good too:

both remind me a lot of IU's BBIBBI.

Their newest title just came out a while ago. Was wishing the chorus could of been more melodic, but I do think this one is a banger overall.

And Red Velvet releases another Summer bop. Hands down one of their better releases so far.

Great MVs from both groups I must say.

hahaha nice. i had to check to see if that was original 80's city pop or a modern group using the style and it sounded way too genuine to be anything new.

good stuff.

I was a 3rd grader when I heard this song in Japan. @Fork @Oku
