Knocked out 18 times.

We're all going to end up as ashes, might as well do what you love while you can.

Unless your goal is to be the healthiest guy to ever lay in a coffin.
This is of course true. And there is another part.. People who are old and have perfectly functioning brain while their body needs assistance are truly suffering. They're the ones that realize how they depend on other people while nobody is interested in hearing their life stories. They're alone even if sorrounded by their family.. The people who lost their mind are much happier living in lala land..

Most CTE is acquired in the gym from repetitive and frequent blows to the head, not from KOs. Damage sustained in a fight is the tip of the CTE iceberg for most fighters who spar hard.

If I was offered the kind of money Overeem gets I'd happily sign up to get KTFO by Ngannou.
Where most CTE is acquired is probably more true for people who don't get KOd nearly 20 times in actual fights. I'd guess the ratios are a bit different in exceptional cases.

Some posters sound like they have CTE. It’s your brain - that thing needs to be protected as much as possible.

It's hard to stop fighting when that's all you've known your whole life.

He legitimately loves fighting.

And hes been getting paid like a cool mil per fight the last few years too, that helps.
Yeah, he hasn't been some desperate scrub begging for fight money (like Sapp or Goodridge, or Bigfoot ended up), he was elite to the very end, and PAID. Props to him, and I hope he doesn't have any lingering brain issues. He seems sharp currently.

It’s really 19. He tapped to strikes against Arona, which is usually recorded as a TKO.

Also having a Chin makes it worse. The brain doesnt shut off

I am worried for Dan Henderson and Mark Hunt more than Bisping, Rockhold or possibly even Overeem.

But Overeem had like legit 10 KOs in MMA not just TKOs

Did Overeem post a tweet and delete it? What is the thread about?

I didn’t write that article. That was written by a professor of Neuropsychiatry with 20 years experience working for the Chicago bears.

Either he’s turning a wilfully negligent blind eye or CTE has been heavily over exaggerated by the media.

Live by the Sword die by the Sword.

Alot of Pussies these days don’t really understand what that means.

And apparently neither do you hahaha.

It's biblical proverb and It's literally Jesus denouncing violence.

I think its fair to say without the Ubereem era he would have been no better than his brother.

The problem with an affliction like CTE involves the 40 or so years you still have to function on earth before they plant you.

You'd take 1 mill to become a human vegetable?

15 losses by KO in MMA and 3 times in K1.
Ridiculous amount of brain traumas. What is he trying to prove?
We are talking about Alistair Overeem ladies and gents.

Something in that boxing gym water. Making all those guys sound like they're struggling to say every single word.
