I'll watch it.

But just some thoughts here:

* This Alain guy has nothing even approaching the charisma of Van Damme.

* Speaking of Van Damme, it's good to see him in this. I hope like HELL that he gets a lot of screen time and he doesn't end up with what basically amounts to a glorified cameo.

* I'm not really feeling the industrial setting that the fights are taking place in. Why not use something more traditional like in the first movie?

* The hip-hop song in the trailer seems wildly inappropriate. Again, there was a very TRADITIONAL feel to the first movie. Why throw that away? I guess they want to appeal to the younger generation and this is how they think you do it.

* So basically it looks like we have Kickboxer-meets-Never-Back-Down.

* I know everything I've said here skews negative, but all in all I actually think it looks okay. Not great, but okay, and certainly better than other possibilities that I can imagine. The training scenes look good, Van Damme looks good, the new kid looks like he has some legit movie fight skills, and Gina always is nice to look at. I'm at least interested.

...is ready.

This looks like shit.

I am a megafan of the original, and was saddened by what I just watched.

And I'm usually very forgiving of remakes.

Will still watch, and if I don't hear "ready to protect?" I will never watch again.

This looks like a MTV B Movie

The trailer has this generic ass rock music over it.....

Why do movies from the 80's have the best music ?

Look horrible. And why do they keep giving roles to fighters, when its not a fighting role..

Oy vey...

Fight and training stuff looks all right. Carano still sounds like she needs dubbing and everything that isn't fighting or training looks like a cheap Kellan Lutz movie.

Had the impulse to laugh when I saw GSP at the end.

Still, looks a little better than the usual tripe we would expect to see UFC guys like Cain Velasquez in. At least I didn't see Echevarria anywhere.

Great post. This summed up my thoughts exactly.

All these MMA stars hosting movies look the same.

Will watch for GSP, Cain and Werdum.

GSP should've been Kurt Sloane 2.0
He has the right look and accent to match JCVD.
