He still won though against a top opponent. He just took a massive leap in comp and won
I agree its a good win. But now i have 100% surety that Usman/ Colby beats Khamzat with ease.

Most were blocked and had zero impact. Only one fighter was hurt and using the fence to stand up in the 3rd and that was Burns.

The vast majority of his had more impact than the vast majority of khamzat's strikes.

Colby is probably an easier fight for Chimaev. The Jui jitsu threw him off in this fight thats why he couldnt wrestle as much as he wanted to. Hes a better wrestler then Colby and Colby hasnt got the striking power that Burns has.

Khamzat proved himself as a top WW contender at only 27 years of age.

Just because he didn't dominate like Khabib or Islam doesn't mean he didn't perform well!

Plus we got to see his respectful side in the post fight.

If he fights Colby it will be in a 5 round fight. Khamzat isn’t surviving 5 rounds with Colby even if he beats the crap out of him for 3 rounds.

LOL since when has colby become Khabib? guy only fights 40 year past it fighters and khamzat isnt that so wouldnt even happen and he has bitch pillows for hands and wouldnt get to lay and pray like he did for masvidal, maybe he can call the cops for backup??

Hahah you did get shat on. That was great.
What a good argument, I'm impressed.
You clearly have never trained a single day in your pitiful life if you thought Khamzat was gonna outgrapple freaking Gilbert Burns, or Ko him inside 10 seconds.

He won. Clear 29-28, I really don't think that's disputable. It still wasn't a good performance or what many expected. Burns is middle of the road, you gotta be beating him down more convincingly if youre champ material. Chimaev is a legitimate top 5 guy though, but still needs another fight against top opposition before he's ready for a belt. He may have been rushed a bit

No doubt he won but that was some of the worst fight IQ I've ever seen from a ranked fighter. He would have gotten smoked by Usman

Collectively the idiots are out in full force dismissing Khamzat because he won a decision over the number 2 guy in the division. Didn’t Usman barely squeak by Kolby in their last fight? Did you guys legitimately think Khamzat would roll in and steamroll the division? He’s human and relatively new to MMA. The fact that he went in there and didn’t get finished, let alone winning the fight, was impressive enough. You guys are like Jake Paul fans ffs.

I loved that fight. It was a beautiful show of heart in Khamzat vs. Gilbert.

But heart won't beat Colby. And won't even get close to Kamaru.

I questioned his chances. I questioned Khamzat. And I was right. Yeah he's good. But not as good as Colby and not even in the same bracket as Kamaru.

Awesome showing though.
People are really overstimating Colby, what was the last legit top 5 fighter he beat?

Khamzat didn't want to engage with Burns on the ground, we don't know if he would takr the same approach in a fight vs Colby and he is the more better grappler.

Khamzat just beat the #2 guy in the division in 11 fights. That is impressive as hell. Tell me another fighter who has done that. Let us not forget that Izzy struggled in a similar way against Gastelum ...

Maybe Burns was to Khamzat what Tibau was to Khabib.
Remember, Burns has better BJJ than Colby, Usman, or Adesanya and that may have pushed Chimaev away from wrestling as much as he could have.

I think it had more to do with conserving energy, he already was exhausted and barely had energy left in the 3rd, without wrestling.

He's no Khabib.

Also his top control is mediocre. No way Burns would've gotten up so easily with Khabib ontop.

Khamzat will struggle in 5 round fights, especially with high pressure fighters like Colby and Usman, hell I'd take Diaz over Khamzat in 5 rounds.

Did you not notice the insane pace of the fight? Burns did well to only fade briefly in round 3
Yeah I know, just feel like there was a knockout win there for him if he just had more in the tank

Um. Colby lost to Kamaru not once but twice.

I don't want to be ignorant but that's proven.

Just saying.
I mean if you actually saw that 2nd fight you would know how close it was, with Colby walking forward winning the last 2 rounds. It was even closer than this fight.

I know 100% that Khabib would’ve won the WW with ease because he can sub any of these guys and has better chin and standup fundamentals than all of them. Too bad Khabib!

I began to truly appreciate Khabib’s greatness during the moments when Burns was piecing up Khamzat. Khamzat got cut, dropped, and was in real trouble at times in this fight. Something which never happened to Khabib. Even in the controversial Tibau fight, he never got beat up as badly as Khamzat did.

Where does Colby beat him??
Inside the Octagon.

Did you not watch the fight vs Burns?

I won't even explain it because tonight proved a lot and disproved a lot.
I like Khamzat. It was awesome. He's so dangerous. And I am truly a fan after that fight with Burns. Nevertheless, he still loses to Colby.
