The vast majority of his had more impact than the vast majority of khamzat's strikes.
I disagree as did all 3 judges and 2/3rds of Sherdog.

I understand what you mean, some people do exaggerate for sure. A lot of us are just having fun with it though, and honestly I was super impressed with Khamzat's power in this one. How in the first half of round 3 he kept Gilbert up against the cage and looked way too fast for him. That after a bad round that Gilbert clearly won he bounced back. Don't know how you mean that there shouldn't be any hype when we all saw that happen against a top 3 fighter.Funny how we went from
"Chimaev should be -1500, Burns is an old and washed up LW, Chimaev is also gonna kill Kamaru "bad knees" Usman and Izzy "no wrestling" Adesanya" to "Lol you morons, Chimaev just beat the number 2 ranked, who is a freaking beast, the hype train still goes" when this fight was a super close decision win AT BEST.
Eh, BJJ never threw Khabib or GSP off. You're right about Burns having more striking power, but Colby has the same kind of chin and cardio that Khamzat does. So it's not an easy fight to call. Burns folds faster than Colby.Colby is probably an easier fight for Chimaev. The Jui jitsu threw him off in this fight thats why he couldnt wrestle as much as he wanted to. Hes a better wrestler then Colby and Colby hasnt got the striking power that Burns has.
I agree he didn’t look great, but only because of the standard that was expected.
Every fighter needs a test. Khamzat’s defense was very underwhelming, too overconfident. We’ll see how he responds now that he doesn’t feel invincible.
And it's not about how much you win by. Kamaru won. There's no if, ands, or buts about it.I mean if you actually saw that 2nd fight you would know how close it was, with Colby walking forward winning the last 2 rounds. It was even closer than this fight.
Some decent points but no way I'd take the current version of Nick or Nate. Prime Nick from 10 years ago? Maybe. Nate is probably too small and even a younger Nate would get tossed around. Go back and watch Rory vs. Nate.I think it had more to do with conserving energy, he already was exhausted and barely had energy left in the 3rd, without wrestling.
He's no Khabib.
Also his top control is mediocre. No way Burns would've gotten up so easily with Khabib ontop.
Khamzat will struggle in 5 round fights, especially with high pressure fighters like Colby and Usman, hell I'd take Diaz over Khamzat in 5 rounds.
hamzat didnt tire out and looked like burns couldnt take him down.
he was open to counters so he needs to tune up his striking.
colby i dunno if he has the striking to give him problems.
I'll ask again..where??Inside the Octagon.
Did you not watch the fight vs Burns?
I won't even explain it because tonight proved a lot and disproved a lot.
I like Khamzat. It was awesome. He's so dangerous. And I am truly a fan after that fight with Burns. Nevertheless, he still loses to Colby.
Because the hype wasn't "Chimaev is a great fighter, he has a good chance of winning against the number 2 ranked guy in Burns, which is impressive considering he has 4 fights in the UFC" it was "Chimaev is gonna murder Burns, and then Usman and Izzy, -700 for him isn't even wide enough".I understand what you mean, some people do exaggerate for sure. Collectively the idiots are out in full force dismissing Khamzat because he won a decision over the number 2 guy in the division. Didn’t Usman barely squeak by Kolby in their last fight? Did you guys legitimately think Khamzat would roll in and steamroll the division? He’s human and relatively new to MMA. The fact that he went in there and didn’t get finished, let alone winning the fight, was impressive enough. You guys are like Jake Paul fans ffs.
Completely different styles though. I don't for a second think Khamzat is a Khabib or anywhere near it but when did Khabib fight a guy as good on the ground as Gilbert? To where he'd have to stand with a dude with BIG power?? Never mind in his 10th fight. This was a HUGE jumpI began to truly appreciate Khabib’s greatness during the moments when Burns was piecing up Khamzat. Khamzat got cut, dropped, and was in real trouble at times in this fight. Something which never happened to Khabib. Even in the controversial Tibau fight, he never got beat up as badly as Khamzat did.
