How do you go from fighting top 50 guys, then a fringe top 15/20 to fighting the number 2 ranked fighter?? The UFC is so desperate to find the next Conor or Khabib to milk them that they don't even bother to build up their young talent properly.

Chimaev won but he's going to be thrown to Usman sooner than he should be, they won't let him peak at the right time, with the right development to fight the top dogs. Not everyone is Jon Jones, and even Jon climbed the rankings from top 20, top 15, top 10, top 5...

Chimaev might be a future champion but he's another case of the UFC rushing talent without building and let them evolve at the right pace.

They handed him a new / larger contract not long ago. You think they’re gonna pay him to crush unranked cans just to excite Sherdoggers? That’s not how it works.

Burns won rnd 2 and 3. He was wobbily but still landed bigger shots for the 3rd. Khamzat had only ring generalship/pressure in rnd 3 but didnt land anything of substance. Close fight but too much was on the line for the cashcow to lose in a close fight even if I didnt have him winning

I thought both guys looked great and had their moments. Moving forward, I think Khamzat would benefit a lot by working with some pure boxers. He needs to tighten up his boxing fundamentals and work on his defense.

He almost finished him at the start of round 3 too. Burns reacted badly to almost every shot Khamzat landed in the 3rd. BUrns is tough and landed a few good shots in round 3 but it was a clear round for Khamzat

It was a great fight and proper decision, but it wouldn't have been too crazy if they gave Burns a split. Either way, seethe lol. Hype train continues.
