Cardio has more to do with style, experience, and confidence than it does with training.
This may seem bizarre, but it's actually true.
For example, you could take a "cardio King" triathlete (with no fighting experience), and dude will be gassed-out inside of one round.
Why? Because he's nervous, tight, and doesn't know what he's doing. (I know, I've been that guy.)
Conversely, you can take an "old Pro Fighter," pull him off the couch, and (with his lifetime of fighting experience), dude will be completely relaxed and calm, fully capable of handling himself for several rounds, before getting tired — IF he ever does get tired.
Why? Because he has the extreme experience + confidence = the ability not to burn oxygen, so he can go for awhile.
Truly experienced professionals achieve a level of "calm and poise" which doesn't allow themselves to get burnt up.
By contrast, young, green, blowhards tend to burn themselves up too fast.
Khamzat can train in whatever altitude he wants, but his style (+ his nervous energy) will always eat him alive, and make him tired.
It's like the old joke of The Young Bull and The Old Bull:
The Young Bull and The Old bull were staring down at a valley of cows.
The Young Bull came up to The Old Bull and said, "Hey, let's run down there and fuck one of those cows."
The Old Bull said, "Nah, let's walk down there and fuck 'em all."
Chimaev = The Young Bull, who hasn't learned to be calm and conserve his energy.
