This. The dude acts like he can't have a camp leading into a fight before his holiday, and that he can't immediately start a camp after.

So I commended him for getting the title and not being stupid but this is a bad deal for all involved. He is getting money from other things which is fine but its weird if he just does not fight. Ilia is doing the same shit and I am surprised the UFC has no rules in place to stop this. Abu is the new fight capital of the world and he is now champ/celebrity living in the area so it might be out of his hands. TDF, DDP is not making any noise to get back in the cage and neither is Ilia.

Aug 19: UFC books the two most likely contenders against each other, leaving no available opponent

Those facts seem to suggest UFC didn't inquire, negotiate, or indeed even consider the idea.

Now, logically, what actually makes sense considering the information we now have on the table?
A) That UFC had no interest in him fighting on that card, as the known facts suggests
B) Your weird notion that he asked to fight in his adopted country but didn't actually want to, which has no known basis in reality

Yeah Ramadan is like now. 22 days over so he can fight in 2 months. He probably trains troughout it. But at night. No way people train without any water. Or he doesn't fast.

Its the man himself and the UFC. UFC should use the carrot and the stick with inactive champs.
On the other hand you have guys like Merab and Volk who just keep defending.

Volk had a 9.5 month gap between his last two title fights.
