He had some decent grappling but I'm sorry he was nowhere near as good as guys like Romero. His wrestling his bad, his BJJ is decent but not world beating.Luke finished Chris, Bisping, Lyoto, Branch, Boetsch all with grappling not striking
He fought Usman on 9 days notice, who had never fought at MW before, while Khamzat spend months putting the size on to have a MW bodyI don't care. He beat Usman at his own game, it's like saying BJ Penn doesn't count as a win at WW. I don't care to pretend Costa is a higher level win than Usman.
Wrong prime Luke was more known for his grappling than striking but he was a well rounded fighter
Buchecha one of the best BJJ guys ever said how dangerous he was and even was tapped by him
Buchecha Reveals Being Submitted By Rockhold: 'He's Dangerous'
3x world absolute Jiu-Jitsu champion, Marcus Buchecha had the opportunity to train several times with Luke Rockhold – challenger to middleweight belt in the UFC – at AKA. An expert in Jiu-Jitsu, the Brazilian has no doubts: Rockhold’s ground game can be dangerous for Chris Weidman, champion of...www.bjjee.com
Khabib said Luke has the best top game in UFC when both were in their prime and Khabib went to Luke to teach him

If Khamzat could make WW he would wreck that division. He may wreck MM if he can stay healthy. Bo and Khamzat would be fun.
Burns negated a lot of Khamzat’s strength. I bet you’ll be surprised at how well he does at MM. That is if he ever fights. He couldnt wreck bloated LW Burns and had to go to war with him and was hurt bad and dropped. He couldnt wreck WW movin up on a week notice when he was bulkin for a year in Kamaru and went to a MD probably should have been a draw. He isnt wrecking Shavkat or Belal.
His grappling game is tight, he made Usman helpless on the ground, for one round that is

already had 3 withing 5 seconds
Khamzat had a freestyle wrestling match in a cage with Jack, there is a reason why the rule set was selected like that for their silly exhibition match.I mean Khamzat ran over Hermansson in grappling while fighting at WW. I get it's not an official fight, but has to play a factor.

He could definitely win a BJJ match against Romero, but Romero easily had enough understanding and physical ability to just stall Rockhold out if he needed to. But he wouldn't last 10 seconds on the mat without getting pinned by Romero in pure wrestling. He had some decent grappling but I'm sorry he was nowhere near as good as guys like Romero. His wrestling his bad, his BJJ is decent but not world beating.
Well he for sure hasn't earned a title shot in any division. He could dominate every MW on the UFC roster in grappling and there would be people still say he hasn't earned anything
He's actually been known to have a very good top game so this is pretty impressive especially because Luke is probably like 220 here.Cool story. Rockhold isn't exactly a world beater these days, and he's better known for his striking rather than grappling.
Yep, quite funny how people now think that Rockhold is some type of scalp today for Khamzat and we heard just two years ago, from the same posters how Costa was shit, because he couldn’t KO a 40year old washed up Rockhold.Cool story. Rockhold isn't exactly a world beater these days, and he's better known for his striking rather than grappling.
