We've been hearing the same thing for almost half a decade now about Khamzat.
He's only been in the ufc for 4 years.
Completely dominated usman on the ground who had never been taken down before.
People credit Usman for taking the fight on short notice and doing well, however both guys who take challenging, completely different style matchups on short notice are at a disadvantage.
I don't think he gets enough credit for how good he actually is / or how good he could potentially be, given that he's still nowhere near his prime.
The way I see it is, he brawled with burns and beat him at his own game. He beat usman at his own game, took him down and outwrestled him in every single round.
Those fights could've been fought a lot smarter and wouldn't have been as close, but there was almost a sense of arrogance and pride in wanting to win in such a way, rather than taking the path of least resistance.
Because of this, I think people underestimate him / analyze him incorrectly.
But, it's only a matter of time.
