Khabib vs Tony. the difference.

Khabib didnt only accept 4 different fights after tony pulling out. At the end of this video, he eventually accepted having a none title fight.

Thats the difference between the greats, thats what separates them. he wanted to fight for a belt, but at the same time was willing to fight either way.

Cant say the same about tony ferguson turning down MJ on short notice off the couch.
Fortune favors the bold.

Time stamped and credit goes to anatomy of a fighter.

also once he became champ turned into a dive and thinks he is a cash cow

why is DC, Anderson and countless other people see no issue with accepting short notice fight when theyre ready to go? the fact that hes 35 should tell him that his best years are behind and should be fighting as often as possible cause soon age will effect him especially with the amount of knockdowns and punishment that he takes.

Do you understand the amounts that DC and Silva are getting paid for those short notice fights??

Tony has 11 wins in a row. From a MERIT standpoint, his stock is as high as any contender in the history of MMA. But at 35 a loss completely derails every bit of momentum he has. And because he's ranked where he is, obviously he's only going to get matched up with killers.

The reality is that the UFC is plenty happy with him being nowhere near a title shot. At 35, he's not in their intermediate or long term plans obviously. If the UFC actually cared AT ALL about matching up the best vs the best, they'd have just said that Tony fights Khabib once the suspension is done. Period. You can make other great fights at LW that involve Max, Dustin, Al, Conor, etc. but the title waits until fall. But the UFC straight up doesn't care about whether the best guys fight for the real belt, which is why we have this idiocy.

Which makes it obvious that any real fan that follows closely should realize the belts mean nothing anymore.

hes the second biggest name in mma right now. 13.5 mil instagram followers not even a close 3rd after conor and him. this fight has put him up there. whether you would like to accept it or not. his fight vs iaquinta ranked 11 got 350k ppv before the conor exposure. thats more ppv than whittaker vs yoel, woodley vs till etc. he can easily sell 500k fighting anyone unranked after 229 exposure. and will hit mil+ fighting anyone in the top 5. any super fight with gsp/conor or the like will make 1.5-2 mil+.

The interim title thing is the problem , there's no need for one, especially if Tony is not interested. They should make Khabib fight Tony as soon as he's back and leave it at that.

Unfortunately interim title events probably boost the sales and will keep being handed out frequently.

The problem with your logic is you say Tony is the best using historical reference but he has no CURRENT top 5 wins and one of his two top 10 wins was several years ago. Dustin has a top 5 win and more current top 10’s. Tony will fade to irrelevance if he continues to refuse fights.

This is spot on. It's just become totally apparent that having the belts actually matter means nothing to the UFC.

and thats why people go to college and study business management and marketing for 3 years not to mention a masters/phd degree. you think the ufc is rolling the dice with these guys? they throw some guy up there in a main event without studying everything around the guy? tony vs khabib was treading to be the biggest ppv of 2018 according to forecast before tony pulling out. LOL, go get an education. the ufc knows khabib is a cash cow, his managers knows it and he knows it.

yet can't sell out a small venue

That's a stupid way of looking at it, no offense. Your wins don't historically change because guys you beat fall off.

Tony butchered RDA, which drove RDA to WW. Up there he's lost a couple fights. The beating he took from Tony may have contributed to him sliding a bit. No way to know, but it doesn't matter. Tony's win was still over a top 5 LW who was the former champ. All his other top 10 wins don't stop being top 10 wins just because the landscape of the division changes over time.

I'm not predicting what will or won't happen with Tony. If he fades to irrelevance, that's the UFC's fault for not caring about matching up it's best 2 LW's. It's not Tony's fault for refusing more BS interim title fights after 11 wins in a row. There's no way to spin it otherwise.

tony didnt butcher RDA. tony lost 2 rounds out of 5 to RDA. happened to be the first and 3rd rounds. in a 3 rounds fight he would have lost. not to mention that RDA was coming off a KO loss to alvarez. its really not the beating he took from tony, its the KO he took from alvarez (lucky punch though). i like tony but take a deep breath.

get an education or grab some audio books. gotta get that high school degree at some point in life.
the old insult when you don't have any valid argument

be better

Look at rds 4 and 5. Look at RDA's face after that fight. Look at the # of sig strikes RDA absorbed vs Tony. That prolonged beating (Tony was landing even in the rds that RDA won) did more damage than the flash KO by Eddie. A quick KO like that takes far less a toll than a prolonged beating.

The first 3 rounds were back and forth, I agree. Then Tony did in fact butcher RDA.

you have valid arguments? LOL read your own replies and compare them to mine. im telling you that according to the ufc tony vs khabib was treading to be the biggest ppv of 2018. im telling you that his fight vs rank 11 got more ppv buys than yoel vs rob, twood vs till, tj dillashaw vs cody. im telling you that big companies have marketing departments that study the product its putting out there. im also telling you that you need an education cause im giving you facts and youre replying with nothing. LOL.

probably not and its not hard to see. whats hard to see is how could tony beat khabib. tony gets knocked down every fight, lost countless rounds and have never looked as dominant as khabib in any of his fights. i mean even vs rda coming off a KO loss, he lost 2 rounds out of the first 3 rounds.
anyone who isnt biased realizes that it will be like kevin lee vs tony but khabib wont gas and will have better striking than kevin lee. i see a comfy decision or tko win for khabib with ease.

Because he is a tall dude with a ton of cardio and extremely durable.

That fight will be 3 rounds of Khabib beating Tony only to lose his cardio in the 4th and probably get subbed.

Khabib will lose most of his cardio trying to pass Tony's guard.

For the millionth time, Tony beats Khabib, Khabib beats Conor, Conor beats Tony.

Take notes piss belt, you might learn something.

LOL why would you think that you know more about mma than the pros, the bookies and the majority of everyone in between. what happens if khabib doesnt gas LOL.. like when khabib replied to max halloway in the presser "he makes guys tired, what happens if i no tired?" LOL.

Gee, I wonder who gave a prolonged beating to RDA before Tony....or do fights from years ago only count in Tony’s portfolio ? Speaking of that , 11 is a odd number...let’s go 12 fights back. Haha, if what Tony did 11 fights ago is relevant than surely the 12 th would also be right ?

I guess you are wrong for the millionth time, that is a unbeatable record.
