Khabib Nurmagomedov: I reckon that I can beat Anthony Pettis

The thing with Khabib is the same as with Weidman. Since they've never really been in trouble, people think of them as invincible. But at the same time you can't be like oh he'd lose to this guy or that guy because they have fought perfect so far so who's to say.

Khabib's grappling is amazing, but I called weeks leading up to the fight that of all the top 10 RDA was one of the two most gift matchups for him.

We still have not seen what Khabib would do if he doesn't get the takedown (except against Tibau) the difference is that at the top, there are some bad ass strikers that could put him in trouble if he can't get them down repeatedly.

Of all the weight classes, lightweight has some of the most bad ass strikers and many of them are strong athletes with good TDD.

did he really use the word recon? Just seems like an odd word for someone whom English is their second or third language to use.

You would be surprised, my girlfriend is Brazilian but she speaks English fluently, she uses some strange words sometimes that aren't often used by native English speakers.

I'm not saying he has cardio issues, but he does slow over 3 rounds(which is understandable for his pace). I'm just saying there are some doubts in my mind on how he'd perform in the championship rounds if he can't finish the fight by then.

Which fights? He threw Healy around in the last round and he's a huge LW, I'm pretty sure he was also throwing Abel around as well in the third round.

khabib would own pettis, he would grapple him to death. he is not 22-0 by fluke, the guy even in training smashes everyone. he could beat anyone at 155 in UFC

Pettis via HeadKick

or

Khabib via UD (smothering wrestling)

Interesting fight, Pettis has some wicked subs but can he handle all the many throws that Khabib might catch him in. Should be very intense fight of concentration and skill.
Really? You think Pettis can handle Khabib's vast arsenal of throws and overall sambo knowledge? Cus I havent seen Pettis in a epic wrestling match since he fought Clay, and Clay softened & molded Pettis into clay that night

The original quote was in Russian, I could have said "I think" but I thought reckon worked better.

khabib can pose problems for any lw, but if they have great cardio and tdd and also make him pay for going for takedowns, i think khabib could have a rough night

Whatever happened to the knee to the jaw when a guy dives in for a double? Ala Filipovic in his pride days

He wears a cute hat and thinks he can beat the champ. What a wienie.
Beat someone significant first than talk.
His last fight was boring as hell and don't deserve title contention.

Guida wasnt anything special and he wresslefucked Pettis.

I agree. Duane Ludwig though takes grapplers and make their striking so good, that they dominate striking specialists in a striking match. He takes them to a different universe. Its the full package. Whereas Nurmagomedov seems to be using his striking only to set up those TD's.

I dunno, it might turn out that I'm wrong. For now though, I'm not sold at all

Cain > TJ

I think he'd have a great chance at beating Pettis. His grappling is just so good that it's hard to believe that he couldn't just hold him down and land enough GnP to go the distance. I doubt he'd finish it though.

I also think that, as we have all seen, Pettis can end the fight at any given second in a number of different ways.

It would definitely be a fight worth seeing.

He couldnt hold that laast guy down that I remember.

Most that prescribe to a faith are not staunch communists as in the traditional sense communism requires the follower to be dedicated to the state and not a religion.

You mean the Proletariat class, not the state. The state is run by the Vanguard Party acting on behalf of the Proletariat. Or so it goes.

Yeah, I doubt Pettis wants to get laid on for 25 minutes.

Does he like to get slammed instead? I don't get why people keeping comparing Khabib to LnP'ers.
