Khabib: I choked both McGregor and Poirier. Why should I fight them again?

Imagine if JDS said this about Cain after the 1 minute KO?

Or Matt Hughes said this about GSP after submitting GSP?

Come on. Plenty of champs have fought certain opponents twice.

The UFC was built off historic rematches and trilogies.

It's not a new thing.
GSP went on a win streak and earned it. Conor and Poirier have one fight each since losing.

Cain got a rematch in a shallow division where there was no other deserving contenders that JDS or Cain hadn't already flatlined.

This is not the same. Khabib put on a one sided clinc on both of them. Neither has shown any development that would suggest that they can handle Khabib o the group. Its still the same punchers chance match up as before.

None of those mentioned situations are comparable to Khabib and Conor.

Khabib was better than Conor pre-fight. He was better during the fight. He was better after the fight, and actually had an *upward* trajectory in performance in his next two fights.

This isn't Hughes/GSP, where one guy is starting to plateau or even fade and the other is rapidly rising.

It certainly isn't Serra/GSP that was based off a GOAT-level upset.

It's not even DC/Stipe where there was meaningful ambiguity about results and forecasting in the event of a rematch.

It's just one guy clearly better than the other guy in all ways, all the time.

Yeah I don't see why there's interest in a rematch after seeing dominated 3-4 rounds before tapping out.

DC never lost a round at HW and dominated Stipe in one round.

Hughes was a dominant champ and outside of an early takedown, dominated GSP and subbed him in one round.

Meanwhile Khabib lost a round to Conor and in round 1, while he had top control ... took more damage and failed to land anything meaningful.

So no ... you couldn't be more wrong.
Khabib did not take more damage in round one by any stretch of the imagination. Unless you think full on gnp does less damage than palm strikes an inch from the face.

Retarded or deluded either way I'm past caring, never seen a post from you that add's anything to SD forums in a positive sense.
If Khabib was retired for real he would have quit the USADA pool. Only other explanation is that he just wants to pee in front of others so badly.

If Khabib comes back and refuses to fight Dustin or Conor winner, that's ducking. Unless he fights GSP and retires. I hope he's not trying to cherry pick a fight with the washed up corpse of Tony Ferguson.

Very well thought out, and stated.

There is getting caught, especially early. And there is getting dominated over many rounds. If Khabib comes back that's great. Even if it is for a Conor fight. But, nothing is changing from that first fight. All Conor has is a puncher's chance. And at 155, let's face it. Conor just doesn't have that same power. None of this should need to be stated for everybody to admit it's basically all true.

How? The winner if Tony vs Olivera is just as deserving of a title shot and far more interesting stylistically.

because an unmotivated, drunk and coked to the gills Conor won a round against you

BAHAHA.. No...Charles is a can crusher, he's never beaten a top 5 guy in his entire career. He's a literal can compared to Dustin or Conor.

I really have no interest in seeing Khabib/McGregor2 Conor didn't show me sh!t in any round that he got what it takes to beat Khabib without shorts grabbing, glove hooking, fence grabbing, illegal knees, he looked more like a man drowning than a man prepared to take away a title. McGregor is not on Khabib's level.

Imagine if Matt Hughes told GSP ... "I made you tap to an arm bar ... why should I fight you again".

Imagine if DC told Stipe ... "I KO'd you ... why should I fight you again".

DC would be arguably the best HW of all time if he retired after that KO.

With that said ... Conor didn't give Aldo a rematch so F him.

Seems not giving a rematch is a wiser move.

Just take your win and move on. That's the lesson we are getting from these "GOATs"
It's not so much that he wouldn't face them if they earned a rematch. It's more "why would I reverse my decision to honor a promise to my mother to retire for that?"

The difference is Khabib is retired. He isn’t going to fight anyone.

Lol if he beats Tony then hell have an 8 fight win streak with AT LEAST 7 finishes. Similar to Dustin's title run. And Tony's body if work needs no explanation. A win like Olivera is all he needs

conor left the division. it's not like he continued at fw and just didn't fight aldo.

champs can't just pick their title contender opponents for the rest of their career.

if khabib comes back he can't just decide who he fights for the belt.

In fairness to Khabib, neither Conor nor Poirier have done much since they fought him. Conor beat Cowboy at WW, and Poirier beat Hooker. How do either of those fights show that they deserve to fight Khabib again? Even when you take the winner of the two, so what? That'll just mean that they would be on a two-fight win streak since last having their s*** pushed in by Khabib. If Khabib is concerned about his legacy (as everything now indicates) both of those fights do very little for it.

More to the point, he's yet to ever even TRY to defend a belt.

immediate rematches are only necessary if it was a close fight that went to decision (reyes vs jones).

sometimes rematches can be deserved. but the guy who lost needs to clear out some top competition before that happens. If McGregor beats Poirier and Ferguson/Gaethje... i think he would deserve a rematch. But as of right now after getting mauled by khabib and beating journeyman Cerrone... no he does not deserve one.

same with colby... he needs to take out 1-2 top 5 guys before earning a rematch with Usman.
