Khabib and friends dominate rule the LW division for about 15 years. Khabib's Army is born!

The main issue is the top athletes in Dagestan/Caucasus get picked off by Arabian/ European Nations of ofcourse Russia for Olympics, International championships just recently a Dagestani picked by Bahrain was fighting a Russian Dagi for the world championchip etc and with that comes a life of cushy gravy train and prestige. The best dont want to compete in the Bush league for Dana's peanuts Kinda similar to NFL attracting the top athletic talent in USA. Khabib Islam etc were actually not good enough to make Russian Nationals and Olympics. E.g Some guy like Abdul Rasheed Sadulaev or For American Context Kyle Snyder would pick a middleweight and throw that mf on the crowd. But ofcourse A top National Athlete aint fighting in Dana's bush league for peanuts.
"cushy gravy train and prestige" Is it really that big of a deal over there, and Khabib might be one of the most well know Muslim athletes in the world and there is no way people in that region don't know who he is?

Their style will get figured out. Sorry but they're not the only MMA fighters training hard. They just have a good sambo/wrestling base that translates really well to MMA. The sport continues to evolve, and their style won't dominate forever.
I don't think there is a specific style to be figured out. A lucky or well placed punch can take out any of them. Khabib and Islam fight different, and so do Usman and Umar. They have fundamentals that they all bring, but they don't fight the same.

Khabib is probably richer than all these Olympic guys. Conor certainly is. Jones probably is richer than Sadulaev too.

If they are really good, they would come to the UFC, which pays more on average and has a much higher earning potential.

TLDR.

Anyway, Khabib had 3 title defences.

Back in my day, "dominating a division" was when you defended against a GENERATION or contenders.

Just saying.
Yeah, he didn't even fight the two best guys around his age...the two guys who literally won the title after him lol.

Umar/Sandhagen wasn't even competitive. Yes, it isn't a specific style. They are just on a different level than everybody else. One of them can lose, it's MMA. Anything can happen once you step into the ring.

The money comes from other sources for them, that’s why they can be like they don’t care what they get paid.

Personally I was a bit hyped about Usman, because I think he is the most versatile dagi, but last weekend showed that he will be very boring when the opponents get more skilled. That’s the reason I hope he will stay where he is, and not get signed to the UFC.
According to Khabib, they also live more simple lives and don't need much money..

He can claim whatever he wants but his car collection alone tells otherwise.

We'll see what happens with regards to Usman, he's great but he's also quite point fighty so I don't know how hard the UFC will chase him.
The last name alone will get him in. Once Islam sunsets it'll be about another Nurmagomedov seeking to reclaim the LW crown for Team Khabib.....the narratives write themselves. He'll do a lot better business than randos like Arman and Gamrot (neither of whom have exciting styles either).

I don't think this is really accurate. Khabib had his time, but then came Oliveras time who was on top of the division, Islam took it from him. The other guy is not even in the UFC so it's not relevant.
