Doesn't apply. That is the 2nd time someone has mentioned documentaries, again not trying to be a dick but is that the WWF fan defense. When I go to watch a movie, I watch a movie. When I go to watch a fight, I don't watch 2 oiled up dudes with masks doing flips and pretending to beat each other up. I watch a fight.

No adult with a working brain is watching wrestling for real fights, just like no adult with a working brain considers wrestling to be some alternative to MMA.

If you are having trouble separating PW from unscripted fighting, or the fact that "watching real fighting" isn't the reason normal adults watch PW, then you've got some sort of neurosis.

Even though Medieval Times isn't real chivalry days tournament, that's not the reason the people who go there are morons.

It's not like the UFC HW champion is 38 years old and people keep wanting to bring Fedor, Igor and even Shamrock to the UFC.

If it wasn't for McGregor and Ronda, UFC would have nothing.

You don't watch then, there is a plethora of young talent who could become stars.

That's Bellator not the UFC

Keyword: Could.

They aren't yet. And the UFC doesn't seem to care.

They don't seem to care? Then why are they pushing the hell out of Sage Northcutt and PVZ? Like I said, the WWE has full control of their product and it still sucks. They haven't made a new star in 15 years.

Just for the sake of argument. Acting in movies/tv is much better and can actually make you believe what you're watching is actually happening. Acting is wrestling isn't believable and the physical aspects are ruined because of mma. These are my personal feelings.

I have never watched a movie or television show and believed any of it was actually happening. C'mon now.

Acting in wrestling was never meant to be held to a high standard. It's like watching something like Killer Klowns From Outer Space in comparison to movies. Acting isn't great, story is absurd, but it's still fun to watch. As for the physicality, being a pro-wrestler is a lot harder than it looks, especially at the top level. Those guys risk career ending injuries, as evidenced by all the broken necks, so while the matches are predetermined, it's not fake in that aspect.

For the past 15 years, WWE hasn't really been that good, I'll give you that.

Again. You said HHH being champion in 2015 is trash, and I agree. But the comparison with the UFC is also insane, because the champion of their premier division is 38yo and the rest are in the end of their careers as well.

I will admit the WWE cannot book anything properly tough.

Apparently you don't understand the difference between scripting and actual competition. Werdum has improved over the years and deserved to win his belt.

Never said the two are equal and didn't discredit Werdum as well.

The "young talent" of the HW division is inexistent. The diffrerence is one is because imcompetence of booking and the other because no young HW can hang with the old guys.

Why are you only referring to the HW division? There is young talent all over the UFC. Guys get better as they age typically in mma because they fill holes that they had. You're trying to single out the HW division to try make an example that there is no young talent and stars in the UFC.

No you got it all wrong. What I'm not understanding is how grown men watch that shit. WWF was cool at one time but it had a direct correlation with my age. So basically as I got older WWF got shittier. Then I found out that it was all fake. All of it. Everything about that shit is fake. It's fake. I would understand bodybuilding competitions more because the winners aren't pre-determined. Hey I don't give a shit what you watch. I just don't understand the appeal

This conversation was started in the UFC board, I don't troll the WWF boards btw. I really don't give a shit.

This thread belongs in UFC discussion.

Because they aren't watching it to see "real fighting" - they are watching it to see how the business is being run, who is considered top talent, who is actually performing to what standard, is this guy working snug or is he taking liberties, has so-and-so rcovered fully from their injury, is the overall workrate high or low, does the writing suck or not, will creative have the guts to do this or will they puss out and do that, can this fool cut a promo, can this vanilla midget work w/ a legend like Nash, does the Iron Sheik have one more run left, will the Honkytonk Man quit talking shit and come back for that IC belt, has Ric Flair banged my wife, etc., etc.

Plus you've got the soap opera/serial aspect, and the stories told by the matches. "Smark" knowledge available in the internet age can add an extra TMZ-ish drama to the package.

They are watching PW for pretty much everything BUT real fighting, and it's the reason they keep watching a shitty, watered down product that is long past it's glory days (no, I'm not talking about the UFC). PW is cyclical, so everyone is always hoping and waiting for the next batch of Races & Funks, Rhodes & Flairs, Hogans & Pipers, HBKs & Hitmen, Stone Colds & Rocks.

Also, you may have what is known in some circles as "(Jon) Fitch's Syndrome".

"For me, I want to make sure we stay true to the sport and I don't want to see this become pro wrestling because I hate pro wrestling. I was betrayed by pro wrestling when I was a child and I don't want to be doing that to some other kid now who's watching fights and UFC fights and watching me and other guys and thinking that it's real. I want to make sure that it's real. When I went to my first wrestling practice in the fourth grade, I found out that pro wrestling was fake. And that was the worst, ultimate betrayal I could have ever encountered in my life at that time. Since then, shut 'em off, threw all my wrestling stuff away that day. I was just over it. I want to make sure (MMA) stays a sport." - Jon Fitch, 2011

Very nice. I didn't feel that harshly about it, but yeah when I found out it wasn't like football and then actually went into real wrestling, it was over.

I hear the brothers from Warrior are not real brothers.

Ultimate betrayal.

I hear Channing Tatum didn't really beat Cung Le.

I can't believe they do the same things as Jon Fitch.

Kids should know about this guys.
