Kevin Holland vs Kyle Daukaus? Holland feeling lockish

Impossible to know which version of Holland shows up, but I do like Holland here.

He went 3 rounds on the ground with Meerschaert and managed to not get submitted. That's impressive.

I dont think Holland getting submitted is the worry. His BJJ is good but hes often content fighting off his back and losing rounds.

Comes down to how good Kyle's offensive wrestling is.

I like Holland here. I faded him against Brunson and Vettori for easy money.

HA there's no shame losing to Brunson. When that dude is on, he's a top 5 talent and probably the best wrestlers in the middleweight division. It's just when he starts flinging his punches with his chin completely up in the air begging to get KTFO is when he falls short every time.

My issue with the Brunson fight is Holland not shutting up and just conceding defeat. He barely made any attempt to get up because he is a lazy shit, that's it. I have no problems with someone being outwrestled, but make an attempt to fight. Brunson was exhausted by the end of the fight, Holland was to busy talking shit instead of fighting he didn't even get gassed. Rewatch it the fight. Holland just lays there, talks shit and barely even fights. He puts in some effort and he possibly wins that fight. Until he does that he lost me as a fan.

I jumped on this early, -150 was too good to be true. Thinking about putting more, just can’t see Holland losing this unless by miracle sub. He’s been working with Johnny Hendricks on his TD defense, got to think that will patch up his game.

It's definitely a PTV for Kyle. Holland isn't hopeless on the ground, but against strong top pressure specifically he pretty much is. But there are levels to this, and Daukaus isn't the man to stifle Holland for the best part of 15 minutes.

The problem is Holland's style flip-flopped from loud mouth taunter-teaser-striker to a silent 'coached' fighter and it didn't work for him AT ALL.

There's a real danger Holland's team may look to over-coach him and it just ain't gonna work.

If the 'student' Holland turns up, he could easily lose this; if Khaotic Kevin shows up, he'll be too much for Daukaus both mentally and physically.

All depends how smart his corner think they are.

hmmmmm zero knock outs from Daukaus and hes not much of a power striker.. I feel like Holland can more than hold his own on the ground vs nearly anyone thats not trying to just hold him down...This looks like a fight that Holland can keep on the feet and put his hands on display. Im not seeing many ways for Kyle to win?

what am i missing here fellas? What do you guys think?
Ya Kyle is probably getting beat up unless his big brother (apparently his keeper) jumps in.

I don’t think that different Hollands show up to different fights. He just isn’t very good at staying off of his back and some guys can exploit that. I don’t think Daukaus is going to be one of those guys and I surely don’t think he’ll outstrike Holland either. The guy is really weird looking.

I think we need to actually see Holland’s supposedly improved wrestling game before putting money on it. His wrestling could still suck despite his efforts to improve. He could be a slow learner

Every time I think I have a lock in MMA, they lose.

you think this guy can hold him down long enough? i agree that is the question.

You all put way too much faith in Holland lol. The blueprint on beating him is out there and Daukaus has the tools to implement the same gameplan.

A lock?

Marvin Vettori took Kevin down 11 times.

If Daukaus gets a single takedown Holland is in serious danger of being submitted.

Worth remembering Kyle fought Brendan Allen, last opponent to submit Holland, on a weeks notice and took him down 3 times.

This is a 50/50 fight.

it's a fight that's arranged as a gimmie to get Kevin Holland back in the win column.

I'll be betting significant Vcash on this fight, for sure.
- And when I say significant it will be at least 2,000,000.

Kevin has had a lot of wrestling training since then. That's a been a big thing for him. With Cormier at AKA and with Hendricks. Whilst Kevin is still a 'stand-up' guy.....don't be surprised if his wrestling and ground-game shows a *big* improvement. This could be Kevin Holland 2.0

He was only at AKA for about a week, so I’m not expecting significant. Hendricks might have drilled some good wresting techniques in to him but we’ll if he can actually utilise it.

Darren Stewart— a Brit not known for his wrestling —- was able to hold down Holland and dominate him for a round. It doesn’t seem like a hard thing to do.

hes strong as an ox though lol and full of fast twitch fibers. I just watched Kaukaus 2 fights on fight pass and he was getting out wrestled by bums...tossed around even. hes not that guy pal..im telling you.
