Nice. Planning to hit that in the next meet? Or more?

/High expectations

If all goes well in training, I'd like to break 500. I have two more three-week waves before the meet, and my squat has been improving steadily for the entire year, so I think I'll get there. This is the one lift that still improves pretty quickly for me, so as long as I make the most out of these next two mesocycles, I think I can break 500. I also know that I need to total 1365+ to move up to second--and possibly (but doubtfully) first--in my weight class, so that will also influence my squat attempts.

It's just a matter of clarity. With all the weightlifting powerlifters and strongman powerlifters out there, you can't be too precise with your words. You might want to also specify that he's not a highland games competitor too, just to be safe.

You'll have no problem catching up to my bench and deadlift. Those move at a snail's pace, if at all. I'm hoping that at some point my improved squat is going to carry over to my deadlift though, and that all these heavy banded rack pulls are going to build my lockout.

Anyway, it's always good to have something to chase; a 1300-lb. total isn't too far away for you.

lol, thanks man. I don't know about amazing, but it was pretty cool. My squat's way higher than I ever thought it would be when I started rebuilding it in January of 2011. If I can squat 502+ in October, I have a chance at tying Tony Conyers for #1 in the squat at 148 lbs., provided he doesn't beat that number between now and mid-November. Otherwise, I'll try to catch him by April; getting a #1 ranking is definitely a big goal of mine, and it seems like my best chance at doing it will be with my squat.

I won't move up until I either physically have to because I can't make the weight anymore or because I stop being able to improve my meet total.

165 is tough, man. I could grow into that weight class eventually and do pretty well, but you'd better have a 1400+ lb. total just to be in the top 10. Being 5'4", I'd be undersized for the weight class unless I really packed on some muscle.

1/8th squat seems a tall order, i'll be fine with walking it out.
