Kentucky Derby...and Beyond?

1st - Justify
2nd - Hofberg
3rd - Vino Rosso
4th - Solomini

Would be the ideal result for me.

Tailed them all, 0.5u win on Justify @4.00, 0.2u e/w on each of the others at great odds paying 4, shame one of them coulnt snag a place.
+0.3u

@Sharkey

I've been thinking about structuring my exactas and trifectas like so:

Audible, Justify / Audible, Good Magic, Justify, Magnum Moon, Vino Rosso
Audible, Justify / Audible, Good Magic, Justify, Magnum Moon, Vino Rosso / Audible, Good Magic, Justify, Magnum Moon, Vino Rosso

Do you think these plays make a reasonable amount of sense? Feel free to tell me I'm an idiot.

I'm also considering a W/P/S bet on Audible. Based on my highly technical and detailed analysis I have determined that he was born in the same town that I work, haha. I can get him right now at +700/+320/+195, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get a better price tomorrow.

T crushed it. Congrats bud.

What a fucking horse. You were right about that kid, Shark. Easy win for him. Great run.

Dude @t6p, just checked your plays again. No doubt you made some great bets. . I came out on top with Justify to win it but damn those were some sexy bets you had there. Awesome job man. Our local pony ran well, too.

@Sharkey I concur with T. It's amazing how much knowledge you have. Both in boxing and horse racing. As T said, thank you for everything.

How good you think he is? Seattle Slew level, Point Given....Big Red?? That was a flat smack down of excellent horses

I think he's really good, bud. He could be one of the special ones, but it's way too early to say he's as good as the horses you named there.

Thanks buddy. Wow, I'm a little bit in shock now actually. This has to be my biggest horse racing win ever. Glad you hear you came out in the positive too.

@Sharkey deserves this hit though, not me.

What happened to Mendelssohn. I thought Good Magic looked the best this week and Mendelssohn the worst, but I thought Mendy was just worked up and would acclimate. I bet he was sick...that is crazy and does not make sense from his Beyers.

What doesn't Justify have? He has early speed, late speed, stretch speed, endurance, he has a competitive spirit in him and is a tank. These big athletic horses come around so rarely, I'm thinking he could atleast be Point Given good, and scarily, it is his only 4th race.

Actually it does make sense from a Beyer standpoint that Mendelssohn was sitting on a poor race. Not "last place" poor, mind you. But he still had a very regressive pattern to his races just on the surface. That's not looking into the manner and track conditions of his last race which produced the big BSF either. Track conditions and the early pace he was forced to run probably had a lot to do with how badly he faded late as well.

He'll refuse to take credit b/c he's such a gentleman but yeah he's taught us a ton. You deserve a ton of credit too, tho. You really killed it today and you should also feel awesome. After all you punched in the bets and risked your own money. Great job by both of you.

Let's just hope he stays healthy. As a big bodied type, one little tiny thing going wrong with him could set his whole running mechanics out of whack. Moreso than with smaller horses.

I don't think I did anything besides say "don't bet my horses, T". Or something like that. So that was all on @t6p. Crushing exactas and trifectas in the Derby like a pro.

Haha, I appreciate it Shark but getting lucky is more like it.

You absolutely pointed me in the direction with that post though. Not to mention the fact that I used to your numbers as the primary factor in what I ended up playing.
