Damn I thought Jackie Chan was done with American movie Cinema or something
It's not what it used to be to be fair
Update: December 17, 2024
Official Trailer for KARATE KID: LEGENDS Starring Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio
In Karate Kid: Legends, after a family tragedy, kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang) is uprooted from his home in Beijing and forced to move to New York City with his mother. Li struggles to let go of his past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates, and although he doesn't want to fight, trouble seems to find him everywhere. When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren't enough. Li's kung fu teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for help, and Li learns a new way to fight, merging their two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown. In theaters May 30.
I saw the movie poster in the theater and I had to do a triple take and check my watch to see if it was April 1, and this is not a fake. Hollywood is really running out of ideas and being risk adverse these days eh? The plot sounds the exact same and they are relying on bringing back nostalgic characters to sell tickets

Agreed. I love Jackie too but he's not right for this franchise. And I certainly don't have any interest in seeing Daniel anymore. I would've been happy if they killed him off in Cobra Kai, leaving Chosen as the last remaining miyagi-do master. No Johnny no watch!
I love Jackie Chan but not watching on principle.
Steve Vai should reprise his role in Crossrods 3This looks fantastic!
Love the pairing of Drunken Master & Lightnin' Boy

I think these Karate Kid spinoffs are best when they have someone who doesn't want to fight, being bullied & so has to stand up to the aggressor.
Miagi teaches that you only win a fight by not getting into one, but we train to be able to handle ourselvez should the need arise. I understand it's the cookie cutter storyline for this series, but these lessons are worth repeating & as long as it's done well, I'm all in.
While I enjoyed the series... it only touched on this here & there... though it surely pointed out the trouble you can get into if you run wild with it.
Anywayz... I'm really looking forward to it!!! Hopefully Johnny makes an appearance. He stole teh show in teh seriez.
@Brother Dragon Do we know where in teh MiagiVerse timeline this takes place?
That would be the movie kick boxer which oddly enough jean claude was using karate all the movie.Let me know when they make the Muay Thai kid.
There waz no sequel, but YES FOR CROSSROADS 2!!!Steve Vai should reprise his role in Crossrods 3
