The problem with Michelle is not the Karate. The problem is that she is a small, stocky fighter but she has no KO power. If you're a small, stocky fighter and always give away the reach advantage, you better be able to put a hurting on your opponent once when you get inside. That's why she'll never be a top contender. If you're short and have a reach disadvantage but can put your opponent away with one shot, then the Karate blitz becomes a good weapon. Triple C is a good example, he has learned the Karate blitz quite good and has KO power. It's a good technique to cover the distance, get inside & land a bomb. Michelle can only tingle her opponents though.

You also have to remember that she’s fighting outside her weight class. She’s a natural 105er, and that’s what she fought at outside ufc. Joanna is an elite striker, and when your Michelle who normally relies on your range and kicks to pick paper your opponent, going up against a bigger kickboxer with range advantage, who can put muscle you in the clinch is a really hard fight.

ON TOP OF THAT, even if she’s within her class Joanna is a very hard fight
