Karate blackbelts in MMA

I'm from Shotokan originally too, and I can definitely say that regardless of how hard you train in Shotokan and how legit your instruction is, it's a style with massive flaws for hand to hand combat without some cross training. Things like head defence, low kicks, punch combos, clinch work, elbows, etc don't get much focus at all.
I was impressed by the accuracy of machidas straight punches, which is no surprise given the style and what it focuses on.

So there is something there. The thing they do specialize in his legit.

All that im saying is that they shouldn't be banned. Who would not to see somebody like Yair(TKD) vs a karate black belt in combat karate?

But Why would you just ban everyone from competing that uses a slightly different style from karate from competing? It makes no sense.
Because it's Karate Combat. It should allow Karate people to compete.
TKD World Cup allows only TKD people to compete.
Judo World Cup allows only Judo people to compete.
Sanda World Cup allows only Sanda people to compete.
etc.

If you want to compete in a MIXED MARTIAL ARTS tournament, you go to MMA where all arts are welcome.
I don't see how this is an issue.

Anyway all of this is irrelevant under new management. I guess we got a new WCL, which is also OK I guess.
