With this probably being the only debate and his sentencing in November after the election you'd think he would have kept the 'cool & calm' tone from the June debate, and played it smart like his freedom and 2nd term was on the line... but nope, it was typical Trump from the 2020 debates.

Sorry I don’t keep track of what your personal politics are. I don’t usually bother with people that have been clearly banned a few times.

It's a big 'may', but Kamala has the tools to stay on message, not become too smug and unlikable, and resist being dragged into a shit-flinging contest. But it won't matter a damn thing. You can't 'beat' Trump in a debate in any meaningful way, you can only remain as unflustered as possible and hope for the best. Trump can (and probably will) just keep repeating 'illegals on our borders' for 90% of the debate, and he will come off as 'focused' to his audience. No one is going to change their opinion for him even if Kamala performs her best, and Trump his worst.

And the polls tell a very sad story if you're a democrat. Trump is up in every battleground state except maybe MI, and yes I said he's UP. Polls including Trump miss his actual support by anywhere from 5-7 points. They did it in 2016 and in 2020, the polls are wrong in how assess trump and they always lowball him. So yes, Trump will win 2024, I don't have a doubt in my mind, and I'm willing to sig bet with any of you blowhards on that.

I think her debate performance was really important because of the lack of interviews and the fact that she never ran a primary.

Our exposure to her and what her ideas are was some what limited for a casual voter.

In other elections I feel by this point anyone who was once undecided has decided. In this election that doesn’t feel like the case to me. I think that debate is going to hold a tremendous amount of weight long term.

I had two big questions
Would trump appear to keep up, stay on track, and be witty/fast paced and clever as we knew him previously? I don’t think he did that successfully.

The other question was, would Kamala outline any policies, or ideas - or would she simply stand on “the hopes and dreams of the American people” and “trumps a bad man you can’t let him win!!!!!”. Which she did lean into, but she talked more relevant policy and navigated it better then trump and it wasn’t close.

Idk. When trump debated Biden I was 100% going to vote for trump because I couldn’t justify that shit. Now I’m back to feeling the other way.
