I really don't think they see the Obama election as any sort of significant accomplishment. After all, "diversity is bullshit" is like their rallying call.

Yeah, they'd feel good if they can rub in the liberals' noses that they elected a woman first but their desire to have another strongman savior/redeemer to put the libs in their place overshadows that, IMO.

It wasn’t too late! That’s the worst part! They had the time for a big convention. The one where they coronated Kamala could have just been a convention.

And Kamala might have won if she promised Medicare for all and gave democrats something to vote for, rather than just hoping they would vote against Trump.

If she took a principled stand on Gaza she could have won Michigan or at least come close too. She left the Democratic bases most important issues on the cutting room floor.

I mean to be fair Biden definitely fucked that up. I agree that Biden should have realized he was going to be a 1 term president and willingly stepped aside earlier, and allowed the Democrats to hold a proper primary to pick a new candidate.

As much as I think Kamala Harris is a terrible candidate, it's definitely Biden's fault that the Democrats didn't get proper notice to hold a primary for the 2020 election.

No it isn’t. It’s the entire DNC’s fault. They all simultaneously dropped out of the primary in 2020 to endorse Biden. Most elderly with dementia aren’t aware of their limitations. We all told you back then he was gone but the DNC hid that too and democrats (suckers) bought it.

Putting that on Biden is revisionist bullshit

No, it's Biden's fault. Stop trying to manufacture partisan rhetoric and blindly attack the Democrats.

The DNC followed US norms and allowed the President to decide whether to run for a 2nd term or not. However, after Biden made that decision it became obvious that his health wasn't going to allow that. The DNC then did not have proper time to run a primary, and they held an emergency session with top Democrats and picked Harris.

They did the best they could have in a bad situation.

You are the one putting on bullshit revisionist history to suit your narrative, because you just want to attack the Democrats rather than Biden -- because Biden is now retired and attacking him doesn't suit your agenda anymore.

They should have run a proper DEMOCRATic primary process and let the people decide.

The whole thing is a hot mess on all sides and had been for about a decade.

I haven't honestly followed it closely enough but it felt to me like Bernie Sanders got fucked over pretty good.... especially if you consider that they wound up with Kamala as she was not even a little bit competitive with Bernie as I recall when the two of them were in polls together.

It's a big mess.
