Elections Kamala Harris for POTUS

good. now tell me what you THINK she WOULD do....

*crickets

Now be honest here. Did you live in a safer world (ie not on the brink of world war) during the 4 years Trump was president? or now after 4 years of Biden and Kamala?

This…

And the border
And inflation
Etc

And now for some realism.

He may want to say that to the head of the worlds largest bank? WSJ said there is a 2.7 trillion dollar difference in spending between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris spending and tax breaks over 5 years. You want the US to cut down their spending and Kamala is reducing defect spending spending according to the Wall Street Journal that is not some liberal rag unless Murdock now working for the libs lol. But neither one achieves the objective goal of a balance budget currently. US economists said that Trump puting tarfits on washing machines actual way to measure trafits saw that US manufacturers continued to buy from China and the prices went up on consumers. The manufacturers saw a slow down as prices rose so sales dropped so they moved back to the US but continued to price the washers higher then before the tarfits. End results the tariffs hurt consumers.

I most interested to see how the election outcome affects markets.

If Kamala gets elected do we see big market selloff?
The parties are fairly bipartisan on the economy, trump is different, at minimum, having funds in the market will protect from inflation

Los Angeles Times Snubs Kamala, Won’t Endorse In 2024 White House Race

The Los Angeles Times, which is California’s largest newspaper, reportedly will not make an endorsement in the 2024 presidential race — a blow to Vice President Kamala Harris as the outlet has backed a Democrat in every White House race since 2008.

Sources told Semafor that executive editor Terry Tang informed editorial board staff earlier this month the Los Angeles Times would not pick a favorite presidential candidate. The report noted the decision came from Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, a wealthy biotech entrepreneur who bought the newspaper in 2018.

A Los Angeles Times spokesperson did not deny the report, saying, “We do not comment on internal discussions or decisions about editorials or endorsements.”

The news comes exactly two weeks before Election Day in which Harris is facing former President Donald Trump in the White House race. Although national polls on average show Harris with a slight edge, betting marketsand polls indicate Trump is gaining momentum and leading in key battleground states.

Harris has received support from the Los Angeles Times in prior contests, including her 2010 and 2014 runs for California attorney general and her 2016 U.S. Senate campaign. The newspaper also endorsed Harris as the running mate to now-President Joe Biden in their successful 2020 campaign against Trump.

During primary season, Biden locked in the Democratic Party’s 2024 nomination with the support of more than 14 million primary voters. However, Biden dropped out amid pressure from allies following a shaky debate performance in late June, and Harris took his place atop the ticket.

A couple of labor unions that endorsed Biden for president in 2020 refused to do the same for Harris this year, instead opting not to back any candidate. One of them, the Teamsters, chose to sit out this year’s contest even though internal polling data found Trump got more support from its members than Harris.

Social media was abuzz with reactions after the report on Tuesday stating the Los Angeles Times would not be making an endorsement in the 2024 presidential race.

“This is actually kind of surprising,” filmmaker and activist Robby Starbuck said on X. “I don’t think newspaper endorsements matter anymore from major papers (local papers still matter) but LATimes is one of the furthest left papers in the country yet they’re not going to endorse Kamala. A very interesting development…”

Many are expecting trump to cause inflation to shoot up because of tax cuts and tariff policies.

Kamala on the other hand keeps throwing around ridiculous capital gains tax proposals.

Who controls Congress will be huge. That's why I don't think a Harris presidency with a Republican Congress is such a bad thing.

@Cajun check this out. Now, it's over 13 minutes long and I likely won't watch the whole thing myself even, but the first few minutes ought to give you a good idea where my own thoughts are coming from (independently, that is, not that I ever heard of this guy before today).

Will listen after work bud. The polls are crazy as we talked. Let me listen and report back.

Not really surprising at all if you consider that a Billionaire is looking out for another Billionaire.

Billionaire owner 'blocks the LA Times from endorsing Kamala Harris'

LA Times owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong reportedly made the decision not to issue endorsements for this year's presidential election

"The billionaire owner of the Los Angeles Times has reportedly blocked its editorial board from endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

Members of the editorial board were all set to endorse Harris for the most powerful position in America, but earlier this month, executive editor Terry Tang told staff members the paper would not be endorsing a candidate for president, two people familiar with the conversations told Semafor.

She reportedly said the decision came straight from the paper's owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, a doctor who made his fortune in the healthcare industry.

The decision marks a major departure for Harris' home state newspaper, which has exclusively endorsed Democratic presidential candidates since then-Senator Barack Obama ran in 2008.
