Elections Kamala Harris for POTUS

Sure, but is that chart showing that or the rebound COVID jobs?
We reached full employment post-COVID with strong growth so obviously not just COVID rebound. If anything the US has had a uniquely effective recovery and we've widen the gap with our competitors in Europe and Asia.

I disagree that it has zero validity, I suspect you just have an impossibly high bar here for what sufficient polling would look like. A sample size of 3500 across 23 countries absolutely has validity even if its not the end all, be all on the question. Its absurd to say otherwise.
You cannot take 3300 people from 23 countries... predominantly white first world ( as stated by Pew themselves) and claim any sort of global perception.

It's honestly absurd to tell me it is. I can pick 23 specific countries and 3300 pollers and come up with homosexuals should be killed ... are you seriously going to tell me and argue that's a valid global perception?

Not to mention.... my original point wasn't disproven by the first poll.. it was a biden is better than Trump... that was the Pew poll.... Not international perception has increased for usa. As evidenced by the 2 other polls I provided.....

Unfortunately gallop was shit and didn't provide the data on who they polled and how many...

But Canvassing some 63,000 respondents across 53 countries, the index summarizes attitudes toward democracy, geopolitics and global power players. Shits all over 3300 from 23 predominantly white countries.

It's honestly why I provided a personal anecdote because polls are stupid and rather than discussing my original claim ( international perception of America still went down under Biden) we are now discussing the polls...

In my personal experience it's your system that people are mocking not just your politicians now. Far more than ever before .

You mean going to the convention for vacation? He's there to pass the torch and once that's done, he's headed back to the W.H. (I think.)

No, he is scheduled to head to Santa Ynez, California for the week, where one of hunter Biden’s buddies live.

Well of course we can't make claims beyond what the poll measures so the Pew poll is only telling us about attitudes in those 23 countries. Again, not end all be all but its not nothing either. 3500 is a respectable sample size and coordinating polling between 23 countries is not simple either. Clearly it tells us something relevant to the question at hand even if it doesn't provide the full picture.

I missed where you linked this poll. If it used similar polling method to Pew then on the surface it would seem much stronger. Then again why couldn't someone else come along and repeat the same argument you did against the Pew poll? The world has between 170-195 countries depending how you count them so 53 countries wouldn't be representative right? Personally I think such a poll would be invaluable even if it "only" looked at 53 countries.

I have no problem with him taking a break. You CANNOT expect Pres. Biden to stay at the convention for the duration. Why?

It's not HIS moment. Right now, he's there to pass the torch and boost up V.P. Harris and her running mate Walz. Don't forget that he's not Trump, he doesn't NEED the spotlight on him 24/7. He's passing the torch and letting the V.P. take center stage.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

You are 100% right. It's why I didn't even want to get into the " polls ". But my personal opinion wasn't valid enough to dispute the Pew poll.

So I provided the two to give my opinion more weight as it was dismissed.

But now I've provided the polls you are now using the exact same logic I've provided to dispute the poll in the first place.........

My point was polls are shit. Thank you for agreeing. Took me providing a far larger poll for you to agree... but we got there.

Now. Would you like to discuss why I think international perception of America has continued to decrease?

lol, you just went from of course he is leaving, he to be running the country, he is commander and chief! Pivoting to of course he needs a break!

What has he done this month?

And he should stay, they just released their agenda and it is his agenda! Maybe they are realizing Kamala is an alcoholic disaster and reinstalling him!

Oh I see now, I think I saw that linked earlier but didn't follow through so sorry if I missed it.

Oh heaven's no, I think that logic is very misguided and demonstrates a misunderstanding of polls so I reject it personally. I'm asking why wouldn't you think the same of your own poll? If you say polls are shit then idk why you'd even cite one. I think both polls here are valid and provide relevant insight into the question at hand.
Now. Would you like to discuss why I think international perception of America has continued to decrease?
Well the poll you posted suggests its largely due to the Israel-Gaza war and largely in Muslim majority nations though it mentions that for the first time since Biden took office perceptions in Europe went net negative in the aftermath of the Gaza war. So according to your source that seems to be what's driving the recent dip in approval.

Yes, but is that chart honest? No.

Wow the DNC released its official platform. The editors seemed to miss a number of times it says “Biden’s second term” as it occurs dozens of times.

They are doing a really good job separating Kamala from Biden and his policies lol

You can open the PDF and search “Biden’s second term”

I don’t know that this is official and complete yet as there is no link to it on the home page and the party platform link on the home page take you to the 2020 platform. The platform usually gets nailed down during the convention.

First part, thanks for giving me the info about him going to California, I didn't know that. Would you rather him go to Bedminster? :)

What has he done this month?

Biden Administration Announces Savings on 43 Prescription Drugs as Part of Cost-Saving Measures Under President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act

As far as your final question about Kamala being removed?

Oh I see now, I think I saw that linked earlier so sorry if I missed it.

No worries

Umm... I tried not to.. but

That poll has more legitmacy than your anecdotes which you supplied as a counter to its claims.....If you want to pinpoint the reliability of it, you should offer up a better perspective than isolated unverifiable anecdotes or atleast argue that results are still up in the air because we don't have reliable measuring method of how America's image has changed in past 8 years.

How do you want me to respond that?? Not provide polls ?? Or facts ?? Just double down on my personal anecdote and say nuh uh that's wrong ?

Come on now..........

I'm not going to defend the poll.... the sole reason I provided them was to provide filthy some validity to my statement that perception of usa has been on a slide for quite some and when people have discussed it for years now

the

" I can't believe that's their only choices " or " thats the best two they have , what a joke etc etc "

are waaayyyy more prelevant than " that guys a dick " now than in the past if that makes sense.

Its not a insult . Or a gotya. . It was a observation

No offence.... nobody I know thinks America's international image has improved under Biden. ( nor trump )

Of course ... personal experience shrug. Which is all I ever claimed. Polls got brought into it to dispute my personal experience / opinion

I wonder what all the Union folks with their excellent private insurance policies would say to Kamala Harris if they knew?

No private health care for you!

We’d love it, it would give us more bargaining power for wages and pensions instead having companies use that as a bargaining chip when it comes to contract negotiations.
