Its a common misconception that sample size have to represent some significant portion of the target population, the whole point of statistically analyzing samples is to derive insights about the wider population from a representative sample.

I disagree that it has zero validity, I suspect you just have an impossibly high bar here for what sufficient polling would look like. A sample size of 3500 across 23 countries absolutely has validity even if its not the end all, be all on the question. Its absurd to say otherwise.
