it's not a hatred. the hate comes with the those who wish to be flippant with what is a serious mental illness by pushing it casually onto our children whom are most vulnerable. If you had children, you would understand this.

But if you wish to be trans, that's a you business I neither hate or love you for it. But it IS a mental disorder with negative outcomes and unfortunately I still won't allow you in woman's spaces. You should probably just get your own "family" washrooms or changerooms. And stay out of their sports.

Do those things and we are fine.

More so demand driven by people saving money because they had no where to spend it during lock-downs, I think.

Frankly, it bugs me how people so easily disregard this factor. Unemployment was certainly high, but the other 80% or more of people who continued to work accumulated massive savings. And then when lock-downs ceased they went on a spending spree and that helped spur inflation. It's also why increased interest rates had very little effect in slowing the economy at first but now they have likely slowed the economy a bit too much and should come down.

Canadians have not been so forthcoming with spending so economic growth here is lagging far behind the US. Inflation declined pretty steadily here with far less lag, I believe, and I think this lack of consumer spending is pretty obviously the reason.

Incidentally, Canada tried wage and price controls to combat inflation in the 70's and it was a failed policy. Someone should point that out to Mrs. Vice President.

Isn't it funny how, when people like this also complain she hasn't been doing interviews and such, that they never seem to consider she could be too busy campaigning and studying how to do better instead, like an intelligent person would?

Even so, Trump always seems to perform better at the booth than in the polls. I'm reasonably confident Harris will win but I'm not popping the cork on any celebratory bottles just yet.

She's giving into a common populist sentiment around the economy for which grocery prices are the end all be all economic indicator. Thing is its really vibes based because we're clearly past the worst of inflation and the economy has stabilized so ultimately I think its misguided at best and bad faith at worst(like how Republican feelings about the economy 180'd in January 2021) and so I don't like to see her give into it. On some level I want the politicians I support to be willing to tell hard truths and push back against bad ideas from their base.
