The issue is that there wasn't a democratic process. They colluded to keep other candidates from being actual contenders in the primary. They backroomed Harris into the spotlight. Voters had absolutely no say.

Accepting the status quo without addressing this isn't going to get the third of people who stayed home to vote.

You can prefer Harris over Trump. He's divisive, incompetent, and corrupt.

We should recognize the choice shouldn't be framed as a turd sandwich vs a giant douche without thinking about the bigger issues. The process that led to Harris and Trump is a bigger issue. The entire process is undermined by the dems collusion. This is the third election where the democratic voters vote didn't matter.

That there wasn't a democratic process is AN issue, it isn't THE issue.
If you want to put the importance of this process over defeating Trump, that's your choice. But that 1/3 of the people that stayed home don't do themselves any favors by opting out. You're just hurting yourself if you have ANY preferences on the direction of the country.
I don't like this system, and I don't like either candidate, but I'm not going to stay home and let the people decide whether I eat the shit sandwich or the mud sandwich.
System wide, structural change isn't going to happen at a presidential election. Voters need to always be engaged, not just every 4 years, and not just when it comes to casting votes. These backroom deals are able to happen because voters aren't active enough.

We don't disagree that there is a problem, but the hand we have is the hand we have. You say "it's the hand we've accepted" as if there are a plethora of hands to choose from.
The choice shouldn't be these two, but that is what it is.

The problem with this retarded argument is that you have to actually prove that the person is unqualified for the position.
And this somehow ONLY applies to black people for some odd reason.
So SCOTUS Brown was a DEI hire, but Amy Coney Barret wasn't? Brown has more experience as a judge than everyone there, multiple times over.

So you don't look at these people's records. You see that they are black, and immediately assume that they are unqualified because of their race, and then don't understand when people call you racist.
