Elections Kamala Harris for POTUS

I don't feel she's being hammered about weed and she won't be hammered about weed.
Then why mention her being hammered over weed?
You don't seem to follow the logic. Weed isn't a good talking point for Republicans because they've fought so long to keep it away. And because many red states still have shit weed laws.

They will most certainly avoid this topic as it draws negative political attention to themselves due to many red states still having shit laws. Hence, weed is a "toxic" issue for them.

Weed is fully illegal in only six states: Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, North Carolina and South Carolina. All red states. The laws are mixed in 19 states: Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. 15 red states.

Weed isn't as toxic of an issue as you'd like for it to be . . .

Why? I think all of the things @Fedor>Cain does about him.
I have yet to see you police Trump supporters on why they are supporting Trump on here. You only seem to like comments bashing the other side or defending Trump. Just be honest about it instead of hiding as a centrist. The only actual centrist that I have encountered here is @USA!USA! and @mkess101 is like third party or something.

We know that if he loses Trump certainly won't.

No its not both sides because not all rhetoric is equally polarizing or destructive. I don't think that conservatives calling Democrats baby killers or queers or calling someone like me a terrorist is even the problem. The election denial is the core rhetorical issue that has deeply polarized the nation. We can all each other all sorts of names but at the end of the day if we can accept free and fair elections we can just run it back again four years later. But if we can't accept electoral losses and indeed endeavor to overturn them the system starts to breakdown.

Nah, I think any language that dehumanizes is just as destructive because it allows the justification of...whatever.
Calling people baby killers or terrorists or racists or deplorables or bigots as a status quo...it's turned us into "us vs them".
Elections obviously are extremely important and a vital part of our society but they aren't the only thing that holds us together as a nation.

This is the second time when pressed for accomplishments, the only thing that I get are positions held.
I mean becoming a lawyer/doctor/senator is an accomplishment. You are making a helluva lot more money than your average American. I dunno why that is so complex for you. I have listed bills and stuff too that I liked, do you want those shared again?

I'm so Black, you guys. Look at all of these Black musicians who I learned existed today.

I can't wait to show you my hot sauce collection.

LMAO as if Trump was not saying "I am so black because I am a felon now"...gtfo here with that pretentious bullshit and seriously you are quoting Tariq?

Really? That dude's entire personality is shitting on white people....He is a scumbag

I'm not really third party, I just **try** to call shit like I see it.

I voted Biden in 2020. Trump in 2016. Wouldn't have voted for either this time and won't vote Harris.

I'm jumping in late as always and im too lazy to read history but seems like you are asking a very fair question and in good faith so ill just add this is what chatgpt says (not trying to pretend i am a stan that knew)

Kamala Harris has a range of accomplishments that stem from her roles but are not simply the titles she has held. Here are some notable achievements:
  1. Mortgage Crisis Settlement: As California Attorney General, Harris secured a $20 billion settlement for California homeowners hit hardest by the foreclosure crisis.
  2. Marriage Equality: She declined to defend Proposition 8, California's ban on same-sex marriage, in court, which contributed to the eventual legalization of same-sex marriage in the state.
  3. Consumer Protection: Harris created the Privacy Enforcement and Protection Unit in California to prosecute companies for data breaches and enforce consumer privacy laws.
  4. Environmental Protection: She won a significant settlement against Chevron for an oil spill, emphasizing corporate responsibility for environmental harm.
  5. Combatting Human Trafficking: Harris initiated a comprehensive response to human trafficking, leading to a significant number of convictions and support services for victims.
  6. Financial Crimes: She launched the Mortgage Fraud Strike Force, focusing on predatory lending practices and other financial crimes that contributed to the economic downturn.
  7. Legislation: As a U.S. Senator, Harris co-sponsored the Justice in Policing Act, aimed at reforming law enforcement practices and addressing systemic racism.
  8. COVID-19 Response: As Vice President, she played a key role in promoting vaccination efforts and addressing the public health crisis through various initiatives and public outreach.
  9. Bipartisan Efforts: Harris worked across the aisle to secure federal funding for historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
  10. Criminal Justice Reform: She introduced legislation to end cash bail at the federal level, arguing that the current system disproportionately affects low-income communities.
These achievements highlight her impact in various domains such as consumer protection, environmental justice, human rights, and public health.

Obviously, you will have your own opinions on which of these you agree with or whatever but also trumps just for fairness:

  • Tax Reform: Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act into law, which reduced the corporate tax rate and individual tax rates, aiming to stimulate economic growth.
  • Criminal Justice Reform: Trump signed the First Step Act, which aimed to reform the federal prison system and reduce recidivism. This bipartisan effort included sentencing reforms and support for rehabilitation programs.
  • Economic Growth: Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. experienced significant economic growth, including record-low unemployment rates, particularly for African Americans, Hispanics, and Asians.
  • Trade Agreements: Trump renegotiated NAFTA, resulting in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which aimed to better protect American workers and industries.
  • Judicial Appointments: Trump appointed three Supreme Court justices and over 200 federal judges, significantly impacting the judiciary.
  • Deregulation: His administration rolled back numerous federal regulations in an effort to reduce bureaucratic red tape and stimulate business growth.
  • Military Funding: Trump increased funding for the military, focusing on modernizing the U.S. armed forces and improving military readiness.
  • Space Force: Trump established the United States Space Force as a new branch of the military, aimed at addressing space-related defense needs.
  • Veterans Affairs Reform: Trump signed the VA MISSION Act, which aimed to improve healthcare services for veterans, including allowing them to seek private care if VA facilities were inadequate.
  • Middle East Peace Agreements: Trump brokered several normalization agreements between Israel and Arab nations, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco, collectively known as the Abraham Accords.
  • Opioid Crisis: The Trump administration took steps to combat the opioid crisis, including signing the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act, which expanded treatment options and aimed to reduce opioid abuse.
  • Criminal Sentencing Reform: He pardoned and commuted sentences for several individuals, drawing attention to issues of criminal justice and sentencing reform.
Thank you! Her accomplishments as DA look solid. It’s a shame her human rights stuff with blocking DNA and locking up marijuana offenders was so bad.

See guys, this is a really good response and it’s educational

I think Trump is scum. Plenty of instances. But HOLEE SHEEET the videos of Kamala sounding like a fucktard are everywhere and so large in number I am terrified the Dems go with her. Many Pols talk in circles. This women talks in a spiral. Word Salad chef. I am fine with women blowing men for positions of power. But once they get there, they have to show merit.

Someone already actually understood and looked up her accomplishments which is better than your blind support

The debate was the only one they had, and occurred in the final week before the election. It was an election in which the two candidate were polling closely, and the debate moment in question specifically had to do with the question of whether Americans were better off than they were when Carter was elected.
That debate had an audience of 80 million people. I thin k it was clearly impactful.
Disagree. There were a lot of factors driving that race, and I don't see any evidence that the debate was one of them (the late move of Anderson voters was probably bigger, though Carter faced a uphill battle in other ways).

What you say of Biden is true of the Dean Scream too though: it wasn’t the scream itself, it fed into a larger narrative. Not that Dean was ever going to win anyway, but again I think the moment made a difference.
Yeah, I'm saying that the debate and scream were overrated as factors. So generally, debates (or one-off moments like that) don't matter at all, but when you're trying to find an exception to the rule, you end up with something much more complicated than the pat story that people tell when explaining the moment. You might realize that Dean was already collapsing when he screamed, but I see others who have the temporal relationship backward.
I agree that Trump somehow seems to be impervious to things that should doom him and would doom other candidates. Candidates need to be made to face questions about their policies, how they’ll work, how they’ll be implemented, what they’ll cost and how they’ll pay for them—and they need to be challenged on this by their opponents in real time.
Why, though? That has no relationship to the actual job of president.
It wouldn’t surprise me if in the future that faded away, and it was 100% media messaging and scripted speeches all the time. We shouldn’t want that to happen, we should support the idea of debate and making candidates debate.
Well, again, I think debates are fun. But I disagree that they provide any meaningful information. A written debate, with each candidate having their actual staff helping, would be better.

Someone already actually understood and looked up her accomplishments which is better than your blind support
I have already listed her accomplishments in another comment and even asked you if you wanted me to share them again....but sure go off

Obviously I wouldn't want a president speaking like that and note that at that level its pretty much all comes from one side. But average Americans and content creators should feel free to engage in boisterous and even offensive language within the confines of our democratic norms. Violating those norms, the way Trump and his movement have, is to me a far greater threat to our democratic way of life and largely responsible for ratcheting up the tensions.

Getting jobs and winning elections are accomplishments
So basically no leadership qualities. The Bill Maher hacky af mentality. Politicians have zero interest in working for their constituents and do all the bidding of their donors/owners. Win elections stay in power and gain favor. Fuck the working class shlubs, vote for us or else.

It's also a weird way to talk about a long-term relationship. Like, any healthy relationship involves oral sex, but it was a relationship. You also see people talk about him being married, as if it was an illicit affair. He had been separated from his wife for over a decade, and it wasn't a secret relationship.
