Elections Kamala Harris for POTUS

Lmk if you look up any Harris accomplishments
Former DA of Oakland (or maybe it was SF?), former AG of California, former Senator, current VP of America, and nominee for president. Yeah, she hasn't done shit with her life. Probably doesn't even trade bitcoins or whatever.

I hear she gives a decent blowie, though, which is the tie breaker for my vote.

All Kamala is to you guys is not Trump. I've only seen Jack on here trolling about how great Kamala is. The rest of you guys have been pretty much dead silent on her up until Biden talked about stepping down. If she was so appealing, you guys would have been signing her praises.

Look its fine if you want to vote for her because she's not Trump but anyone pretending like she's qualified for the job, good at the job or would be the best person for the job is just lying out their asses.

She basically had one job as VP and that was to work on the southern border and she failed miserably. Not only did she fail miserably but she flat out lied about it when asked if she even went to the border.
I don't understand why people say this like it's an insult, or as if it doesn't make sense.
If there's only 2 choices, you're either voting for someone, or against someone. They're both valid reasons to vote.
Whatever Kamala is, if you're not a conservative, she will be better than Trump. You're not just voting for the person, you're voting for the party and the direction.
A Trump presidency means more institutionalized power to Republicans and Republican federal and supreme court picks.

I'm not a fan of Kamala, but what exactly are the qualifications needed? She was an AG, a senator, and a VP for 4 years. What did Trump know about governance? What genius did G.W Bush have? Was Obama's resume far better than hers? Was Biden's walking dead corpse more qualified?
No one is saying she is the best for the job, she's just the best person for the situation that Biden and his handlers put us in by dropping out so late.

Fixing the border "was her job" is a joke. How exactly would she have done that? It requires Congress and the president to do any real action.

I would vote for a potato before I would vote for Trump.

If you can't conceive of why that would be it's because you have something missing in your brain that keeps you from seeing what an absolute monster pig criminal rapist bully and shyster Trump is and how he has degraded all of our politics and the entire national discourse.

Trump is not worse than all the other politicians by degree... he is worse in kind. He is categorically unfit. He is uniquely unfit.

Trump is somewhere he should not be.

I'm jumping in late as always and im too lazy to read history but seems like you are asking a very fair question and in good faith so ill just add this is what chatgpt says (not trying to pretend i am a stan that knew)

Kamala Harris has a range of accomplishments that stem from her roles but are not simply the titles she has held. Here are some notable achievements:
  1. Mortgage Crisis Settlement: As California Attorney General, Harris secured a $20 billion settlement for California homeowners hit hardest by the foreclosure crisis.
  2. Marriage Equality: She declined to defend Proposition 8, California's ban on same-sex marriage, in court, which contributed to the eventual legalization of same-sex marriage in the state.
  3. Consumer Protection: Harris created the Privacy Enforcement and Protection Unit in California to prosecute companies for data breaches and enforce consumer privacy laws.
  4. Environmental Protection: She won a significant settlement against Chevron for an oil spill, emphasizing corporate responsibility for environmental harm.
  5. Combatting Human Trafficking: Harris initiated a comprehensive response to human trafficking, leading to a significant number of convictions and support services for victims.
  6. Financial Crimes: She launched the Mortgage Fraud Strike Force, focusing on predatory lending practices and other financial crimes that contributed to the economic downturn.
  7. Legislation: As a U.S. Senator, Harris co-sponsored the Justice in Policing Act, aimed at reforming law enforcement practices and addressing systemic racism.
  8. COVID-19 Response: As Vice President, she played a key role in promoting vaccination efforts and addressing the public health crisis through various initiatives and public outreach.
  9. Bipartisan Efforts: Harris worked across the aisle to secure federal funding for historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
  10. Criminal Justice Reform: She introduced legislation to end cash bail at the federal level, arguing that the current system disproportionately affects low-income communities.
These achievements highlight her impact in various domains such as consumer protection, environmental justice, human rights, and public health.

Obviously, you will have your own opinions on which of these you agree with or whatever but also trumps just for fairness:

  • Tax Reform: Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act into law, which reduced the corporate tax rate and individual tax rates, aiming to stimulate economic growth.
  • Criminal Justice Reform: Trump signed the First Step Act, which aimed to reform the federal prison system and reduce recidivism. This bipartisan effort included sentencing reforms and support for rehabilitation programs.
  • Economic Growth: Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. experienced significant economic growth, including record-low unemployment rates, particularly for African Americans, Hispanics, and Asians.
  • Trade Agreements: Trump renegotiated NAFTA, resulting in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which aimed to better protect American workers and industries.
  • Judicial Appointments: Trump appointed three Supreme Court justices and over 200 federal judges, significantly impacting the judiciary.
  • Deregulation: His administration rolled back numerous federal regulations in an effort to reduce bureaucratic red tape and stimulate business growth.
  • Military Funding: Trump increased funding for the military, focusing on modernizing the U.S. armed forces and improving military readiness.
  • Space Force: Trump established the United States Space Force as a new branch of the military, aimed at addressing space-related defense needs.
  • Veterans Affairs Reform: Trump signed the VA MISSION Act, which aimed to improve healthcare services for veterans, including allowing them to seek private care if VA facilities were inadequate.
  • Middle East Peace Agreements: Trump brokered several normalization agreements between Israel and Arab nations, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco, collectively known as the Abraham Accords.
  • Opioid Crisis: The Trump administration took steps to combat the opioid crisis, including signing the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act, which expanded treatment options and aimed to reduce opioid abuse.
  • Criminal Sentencing Reform: He pardoned and commuted sentences for several individuals, drawing attention to issues of criminal justice and sentencing reform.

Getting jobs and winning elections are accomplishments. And experience. If you want details of her record as a prosecutor, or her voting record as a Senator, why not just google it like the rest of us?

My question was more if we accept "Well this is how it's going, so this is how it is" in a general sense. Regardless of whos doing what.
And the answer is that Dems do while Trump didn't and instead tried to overturn the election. For some reason despite that we have to pretend he's a normal candidate instead of a lunatic criminal shaking the foundations of the Republic.

I honestly don't think she has much. Her record as a senator as far as legislation that she spearheaded or authored isn't stellar.
She was just good at grilling people.

One of the biggest issues with her is that she is a chameleon. She doesn't seem to have much of any firm beliefs, she just goes with the party, or does what is needed to get the votes.

If the Republican candidate had a copy/paste of her "accomplishments" as a DA you can bet the MSM would be letting everyone know on a daily basis.

All the talk of Trump durrr he's gonna put people into camps nonsense whereas she was actually responsible for putting many people behind bars who didn't deserve it.

Well said. Her and Biden were more or less figureheads for the party without any real vision themselves.

Yup.

Not that polls mean anything this far out, but Kamala is up 44-43 according to latest New York Times/Sienna College poll.

I predict her lead is going to start growing over the next couple of weeks

I think you read that wrong.

It’s 44-43 Trump. Also national polls are worthless. Battleground polls are more important.

By that logic, he literally shouldn't be allowed to run and win regardless of what the process says. And to someone believing he's a lunatic criminal "shaking the foundations of the republic", I'd imagine you'd think that while maybe not ANY means are acceptable to stop him...most are?

IDK, I shouldn't guess at stuff like this but that is the (ironically, somewhat Trumpian) type rhetoric that ratchets up people to where the "must be stopped at all costs" line of thinking comes into play.

It's not someone like you that anyone would worry about either, of course. It's the loons like the ones from Jan 6th and their left wing fringe counterparts. And no we haven't had the let's version of it, but if the dude is "shaking the foundations of the republic"...it's damn sure possible we do.

No not by any means because unlike Trump and his followers I think preserving our democratic norms is really important which means that sometimes there are lines you don't cross even if there are no official rules telling you you can't cross that line.

Its not though because its based in reality. Trump really did try to steal the election, Congressional Republicans really did acquit him during impeachment, and the SCOTUS did in fact give him expansive criminal immunity. That is very much unlike his claims of election fraud which are completely baseless.

And if we did it would be Trump's fault.
