Elections Kamala Harris for POTUS

He brings in the more conservative vote and the vote that may not like Trump personally but hate the way the democrats have run the country and want to push it further left with Harris.

She will do well with young left women.

Trump has strong support with conservative women and he pulls back women that think Vance is to far right on issue like abortion.

She was a California liberal DA that didn't support the deportation of criminal illegals. She even started a program to train to get them jobs and hide them from ICE and deportations. One of withch killed a person.

So the law and order thing with her is weak.

JD Vance does absolutely nothing to bring in more conservative votes. Republicans literally hid this dude during his senate campaign in Ohio.

He called Trump Hitler lol.

He's extremely off putting and weird in public. You guys thought Desantis got hit hard being a weirdo with tiny dick energy, wait until hear 5 months of JD Vance leading up to he election.

Trump has his base. They are voting (R) no matter what. Vance was a gift to the Democrats. Can't wait to see you're heads collectively explode when we find out that JD Vance has further turned away suburban women from MAGA.

Trump would have been much better off picking somebody like Haley. She was exactly who the conservatives you are talking about liked and would have likely garnered those votes. JD Vance ain't it my guy.

Bet he was "one of the good ones" 🤣
yeah, Lucas' whole personality is being paranoid about being called racist....I wonder why since he clearly seems in tune with the "black community" despite constantly calling black folks uncivilized if they don't vote for trump

Yes Obama was masterful at appealing to blacks on their level culturally (selling himself authentically as a black candidate) but also as you said could completely change it up and appeal to other audiences or classes or countries even. I’m the same way full disclosure as I have to navigate family and work in that regard.

And yes they do try to sell identities based on reward for it. I think it’s a harder sell now as the identity thing has been over sold. Kamala isn’t going to do the job Obama did there clearly. I think polls are showing this election is more about substance and people being fed up with where we are at.

I think the high cost of living and other things overshadow empty things like “sex gender race”. Getting people to feel good vote works better when things are going well. I really don’t think the “let’s make history” thing is going to be the selling point this election.

This is why young voters have shifted like 12 points (a record amount) because they’re feeling real world consequences of bad times as adults. People will be more likely to try and vote with their heads and not hearts this time.
curious, what race are you? you seem to "know" how to generalize people by their skin tone....

We will see what happens. I like some of his views but not others.

Haley hated Trump also so there was that. However she may have been better with the women but it's hard to tell sometimes.

It's a matter of what they can come up with that will stick to her. Right now they don't have a little Marco or sleepy Joe type insult. She isn't actually that left wing or communist. She's not stupid. She's kind of a nothing entity with no hyper fixed views, but Trump calling someone a hypocrite is rich, even for him. I guess they'll go with the radical left wing DEI banged Willie Brown in 1991 angle, but I'm no sure how well that's going to stick.
You're right. There is nothing unique about her, aside from the fact that she is a black woman who happens to be the Vice President, which the Democrats naturally intend to exploit for their advantage. When it comes to her personality I think she's a slightly spiced up Hillary Clinton which is not good by any means.

Trump's team can go after the fact that she was a disaster in 2020, which is impossible to deny. They can make her sound dumb (unburdened by what has been), make her sound cringy and obnoxious (her cackles) and so on. I think the DEI angle can hurt them more than anything. People are too sensitive about race and gender nowadays. And it's not like Trump has a good reputation when it comes to that.

What I think will help them the most is Kamala herself, as she's very unlikable, after all. We'll have to wait and see how Kamala Harris '24 comes out, though.

I've said this before and will say it again, Biden was a better (as in, easier) opponent.

I wonder if MAGA trots out Vance’s wife any more throughout the campaign.

MAGA did not take kindly when realizing that Couch Fuckers wife was of Indian descent…

I disagree with this. First, debates generally don't have an impact on elections. Second, when you're way ahead, as Trump was, there is no upside to participating in one.

As a politics junkie, I like debates and think they're fun TV. But realistically, they provide no meaningful information, and people participate in them because it's basically free advertising (and not participating subjects them to some criticism).
I think his point was that it was goofy for that other guy to complain about RFK or other unknown candidates not getting a chance to debate Harris or Biden when Trump did not give his primary a chance to debate him.

You are painting with a very broad brush the left likes to use.

"All Republicans are racist" which is far from the truth there are just as many racist on the left in a different form as there are the right.

In both cases the numbers and not that large.

I hope they bring her out as much as she wants she seems nice.

Anyone that doesn't like it can eat shit and die and should be told that. I have no problem tell them that.

Generally? Sure. But that just isn’t always the case. Yes, the people watching debates are generally more politically aware anyhow, and probably aren’t undecided voters.
Look at 1980 for example, when Carter and Reagan were polling very closely. They had a debate in which Reagan’s “Are you better off than you were 4 years ago” moment made an immediate and significant impact on the race.
And obviously this year, a disastrous debate performance put the nail in the coffin not just of a candidate, but an incumbent president.

I agree there’s certainly no upside for Trump to debate, but I think there’s an upside for the people and the process for him to debate. Who knows how, or if, this election could be different if Trump had gotten smacked around by Vivek or DeSantis or whomever.

That wasn't the crux of my argument. The issue is that KAMALA did not RUN AT ALL against challengers. She got foisted in this role after completely skipping a primary process by the people who are claiming "Democracy is on the ballot"....
