Opinion Kaitlin Clark accused of having "white" and "pretty" privilege

Yes. I'm saying who gives a fuck? Anyone who criticized Reese for taunting is an idiot. I don't care if equivalent or not. It shouldn't even be a discussion.
I mean I could care less again…….. but when’s the last time someone won a championship and mocked / taunted the opponent afterwards (college or NBA?). Pretty sure that’s a little different than on the court chatter. Certainly if Luka did something similar to Tatum after winning this years NBA championships it would make waves. If he chases down a dejected opponent after the results and pointed at his finger, mocked him and waved bye bye with a pouty lip. First of all the announcing crew would immediately admonish Luka. Second they would discuss it in the post game. Third it would have fan lash back. You don’t see low class behavior like that often on a big stage post game. It wouldn’t definitely be discussed. Yes I’m speculating a Dallas upset.

“The men talk shit all the time so this is a nothing burger”. Okay, when’s the last time men on the biggest stage representing the sport acting like that post game to an opponent. Competitive chatter and shit talk vs going out of the way to disrespect your opponent after a championship is won…….. I think many see what Reese did as raking it further.

Sure. It would get media attention. Klay's taunt got media attention and it was a random Wednesday night game.

I think what rubbed people the wrong way was the narrative. The attacks on Reese's character and people acting like CC was some delicate flower that needed protecting from the big bad bully. No one acted like Klay's taunt was proof of some major flaw or that Booker was the victim of some vicious attack. It was a thing for a day and then people moved on.

That was two way deal though. What was there like 7 technical fouls in that quarter and two way trash talking. The situation was heated. Reese waited until they won and approached her when she easily could have took the high road. They didn’t have any beef or issues. She just waited and went out of her way to be an asshole. You’re comparing a heated altercation between teams and players during a game to post game antics for no other reason than to be an asshole.

Basically you’re comparing two players shoving, jabbing and finally one throwing a punch. What Reese did would be like running up behind someone and sucker punching them post game for no reason.

Reese has proven time and time again her character is low though she goes out of her way to do so. I mean she even had heavy drama with LSU star and mother. She goes out of her way with this stuff and makes it a point to advertise it and begs for attention. Why act like this was isolated and Reese is usually all class.

Also sportsmanship is more valued at the collegiate level and you risk more with poor behavior. Behaving like that is less common than the pros. But Reese did it in a way we don’t even see in the pros (post game taunting after winning a championship).

It's a basketball court. Unlike a football field, all of the players are in close proximity at all times while on the court. They are talking shit and hearing shit talk the entire time they are out there. We don't know what CC or Reese said during the actual game.

This shit happens in basketball all the time. Klay Thompson did the 4 rings taunt to Devin Booker on a Wednesday night during the regular season while the Warriors were getting blown out and lost by 30 after he was ejected.

It's such a nothing burger. Everyone who has ever played a pick up game as either talked some shit or been on the receiving end of it. It's basically apart of basketball culture.
youve made some other comments that i agree with in regards to the trash talking between reese and clark and the ensuing culture war being a HUGE part as to why clark is even talked about and how it will slowly die off over time as it gets old. However, I think you are being very disingenuous on this take saying that trash talk during a regular season game is same as doing it very directly on the biggest stage right after you eliminated someone and finished their season. It would be like if micah parsons were to sack patrick mahomes and talk shit during the 3rd quarter of a week 13 game and saying its no different then if the cowboys beat the chiefs in the superbowl and micah parsons ran up on mahommes in front of all the cameras and got in his face and shit talked him after the game is over. You really think those 2 things are the same?

Only in a league where most of the players looks like Michelle Obama or Jim Carey’s character on living color, can you say that this woman has “pretty privilege.” She’s not unattractive, but she’s not that hot, either. I damn near choked on my own tongue when whoopi of all people defended her

Yeah when Whoopi disagrees with you you may have overreached a bit ha ha

Her face reminds me of Chris D'Elia

This whole thing reminds me of when Wayne Gretzky first started playing in the NHL. There was so much bitching about him from anyone who wasn't an Edmonton Oilers fan it was ridiculous. People even complained he was protected from getting hit--well that's what you want when he's your team's best scorer, innit?

But when his leaner, lighter, style of play turned out to be really successful for European players beating American and Canadian teams overseas, all that fizzled away like a fart in the wind. People bitch because they like to bitch, whether it be due to jealousy or just being a bitch. I'd say there's very little doubt the people criticizing Clark have other teams they strongly root for or can't stand the success the WNBA is starting to have for some stupid reason.

This is all just set up thetmy thought clark would come in share the spotlight but most of peoppe sticking to their camp. Blacks for angel whites for caitlin and now just funny both sides making their girl best.and media is making all the money

I find the concept of straight privilege is a sport where something like 70% of the locker room are lesbians is hilarious.

It is far worse and more intimidating to be the only straight in a gay locker-room than being the only gay in a straight locker room.

Imagine being the only straight in a gay changing room? They'd all be oogling you as you get changed and you'd know they'd have the ability to hold you down and rape your ass if they wanted to. A gay in a straight locker room doesn't have to worry about any of that.

I used to think lesbians were cool and hot based on unrealistic depictions of them on TV but the reality is very different, they are mostly just bitter angry man haters.

Someone forgot to tell Trottier. Saw him nail Gretzky many times lol

Some of the backlash on Gretzky was because up until Bobby Clarke, usually top players were expected to be tough and take care of themselves. Clarke was a rat bitch who threw dirty shit and then ran behind goons. In fact Clarke was possibly the dirtiest star player of all time. Gretzky was the opposite. Totally clean finesse player who had bodyguards. It was new and old school fans kinda hated it.

Speak for yourself, clownshoes. They just hate you.

because you are thinking of it from a male view. Male gays being generally thought of as the weaker of us. Though the opposite is true for females. The Lezzies are generally the “hard” ones.

And only the loudest lesbians are Uber man-haters. Most lesbians I met were chill, and smoked a lot of dope. Anecdotal, I know, but still. My experience

I'm sure there's a few but overall lesbians are pretty easy to get along with as a guy I find, I mean there's no sexual tension or anything so i find it easier.

BULLSHIT! HE HIGH-STICKED GILMOUR IN THE 1993 CONFERENCE FINALS!!!!

I'm totally over it, though...
Most high sticks are complete accidents lol. Thus it was in that situation. We're I a leaf fan I would be more mad at Kerry Fraser who saw the high stick and didn't whistle it

When I think dirty, I think Ulf Samuelsson and Brian Marchment. Guys intentionally targeting knees or eyes.
