If you can't stop your opponent from stepping on your head you don't deserve to win the fight.now if knees to the head were legal to a grounded.
how much more would he wrestle?
I am aging, so I grow softer. I can live with out soccer kicks now. seeing the kid get booted after he was already ko'd in rizin was rough. (100%refs fault)
not so much from the brutality of the strike. but more so ref incompetence etc. way too dangerous letting Jerin Valel watch murder by stomps and kicks
but the knees to the head. taking them out has caused so many stale stalling positions that are only enjoyable when we get to see camel toe action from the very few decent looking wmma gals (just calling it what it is)
taking those knees away nearly eliminated north south chokes and the position entirely.
all the "but thats only for wrestlers it would be their advantage" thats absurd and a disrespect to modern MMA fighters.
ask volk if he feels protected by that rule
thats my sunday rant since you got me all gas lit on the rules lol
And you realistically see him outgrapple khabib or olives no matter how much he trains?
Earlier in his career (not as far removed from his wrestling peak) he had problems with firmino (who looked natty as fuck but lets ignore that) who isn't exactly khabib or olives.. (watch that fight btw, zero fucks given)..
He says he can't keep up his balls to the wall style when wrestling and he wants to be an action fighter..
No one is expecting Justin to out grapple Khabib or Oliveira but he needs to have enough to able to at least survive on the ground. Lesser grapplers have done so.
Justin's BJJ is practically non-existent and he offers no resistance once the fight goes to the ground.
This perfectly explains why he lost the two title chances he had.
I wonder if that's what happened to Chandler against Poirier? I get what Gaethje is saying, but he should still work more on submission defense. His defensive wrestling is pretty good, as Khabib is the only guy who's been able to keep him down for any length of time.He has said it before that when he wrestles it depletes his tank too fast.
True that. Also Cro Cop and others, but I always felt Aldo did it bestChuck Liddell is another good example, he pretty much made his career out of countering wrestling with his aggressive striking game.
Aldo always adapted quick to any changes in the fighting meta, he was one of the first to check calf kicks with correct technique.True that. Also Cro Cop and others, but I always felt Aldo did it best
Also one of the best examples ever of using leg kicks effectively. I always wished he threw more of them after that Faber fight.Aldo always adapted quick to any changes in the fighting meta, he was one of the first to check calf kicks with correct technique.
