Media Justin Gaethje: ‘I’m the most exciting fighter that has ever stepped in that octagon in the history

I posted that gif to show u that just cuz guys swing doesnt make them exciting. Thats bum shit, and its fun sure. But if thats ALL YOU DO? Than no, ur not exicitng. Ur basic af.

Anderson has variety, flash, style and viciousness in tons of fights at the highest level. Even hailmary submissions are exciting. Or clowning and getting ko’d. Or standing with his back agains the cage and doing wing chun or whatever its hilarious and ENTERTAINING. Swinging punches just seems, kinda boring after u seen it so many times, but u dont always see upward elbows and spinning shit.
I agree there's no art to it. Anyone can fight like Don Frye.

However, if the fighter has cinder blocks for hands like Chris Leben then it does become exciting because then anything can happen and every punch is dangerous. The entire fight is moments away from being finished, but guys with hands like that are super rare. Gaethje doesn't have hands like that.

Pfft 20 years. Ur naive if u think this is my first and only account.
PROVE IT.

He throws calf kicks wooow. How many finishes does he have that arent from punches. Theres 8 limbs…

So what??? There isnt a quota on that you have to finish fights in all different ways. If Mirko won every fight with a LHK it would be beautiful. In fact I refuse to acknowledge his other KOS.

lol no they arent.

Leben fought at 185,plenty of hard hitters in that div.

The reason why leben was exciting is that people tried to brawl with him,and his big ass head could absorb the punches, and in a brawl with chris leben, the opponent is gonna go down first. That shit is mad exciting. When that Sakara tried to out alpha leben and got put down, holy shit. That was great. What ya doin sakara?? you aint got the chin to go toe to toe w the catsmasher HA HA Sit down Sakara

Yeah leben was fun and exciting, only for a while, but after how many of the same fights does a guy have until people yawn. Now if leben came out and landed a showtime kick to compliment his cinderblock head/hands, then yeah he would move up in the excitement ladder. After 10 fights of doing the same shit, its not exciting anymore.

Nope. I want Leben to do the same exact shit every time. Thats what made me a fan and thats what I wanna see.

Yep. I think thats what he’s going for now. He’s 34 and knows he probably wont get a title shot, so he markets himself as the most exciting ever lol. He’s exciting, but theres more to being exciting than just swinging and getting hit.
it's pretty sad tbh. I think people who are in tuned with UFC , like hardcore UFC fans can see through it, but the casual UFC fan who's just wanting to see two people get fucked up, probably believes this shit and is buying this shit.

Disagree in the case when the opponent is skilled. It brings the best out of the opponent because they have to use their best abilities to not get ko'ed, which is why a fight like Silva vs Leben was incredibly exciting. It was like a bull fight when the matador won.

There's art to not getting ko'ed when you're trapped in a cage with a monster. Two guys of similar skill yeah it's boring.

No quota, justins style of swinging is old and basic. Nothing special about it.

fiziev is gonna ko him, and u’ll praise justin for being exciting lol

Why would someone NOT tune in to see people get fucked up?

Peli just trying to start shit again now that AEW sucks too bad to watch anymore

Come back to the Island of relevancy PELI!

Fiziev is also aan exciting fighter, but "old and basic" dont mean SHIT. Only what works is relevant.

Lol u should just watch old dvds and old fights then, why watch new fights?

I mean you just ask stupid ass questions.

I love watching fights. If Chris Leben fights somebody ill tune in cos at his best,he gonna bring the violence. Let's see if the guy he's facing is good enough to avoid it.

According to HHJ, silva vs leben was boring because silva didnt do the whole kill or be killed thing. Silva was suppose to just stand with no headmovement and get hit as well, u gotta also get hit to be exciting.

Lol u think 2 guys swangin is the most exciting thing there is in mma?

hahahaha casual
You're fucking weird, people in this thread replying and stating opinions, while you're out here trying persuade people into taking your opinion as fact, whilst jumping into insults & laughing at others views. The most exciting bouts in MMA are usually when 2 fighters, actually trying to force a finish & go for it. Most technical bouts are usually boring, where you could go outside and a have a quick smoke, Israel vs Anderson, Machida vs Rua? Would you consider those bouts exciting? Because those 2 bouts I widely consider the best technical display of striking from both sides, more Rua & Shogun.

You're very off putting.

No way man. Leben had hands like Rumble. Smash through guard touch a guy he's in the phantom zone kind of power he just was incredibly unskilled.

I doubt there were 5 guys ever in the UFC with hands like that. His chin wasn't even that solid comparatively it's his hands that were the problem nobody wanted to feel a single punch.
