Just watched McG vs Diaz...

what do you expect to happen? he outpoints diaz for 5 rounds? he gassed in like the second round - how much efficiency is going to get him to go for a whole 5 more rounds against a diaz brother who will be better prepared this time and admitted he couldnt pressure as much as he would normally? - i would say conor's chance is to actually get the ko

i guess you people dont realize that diaz might actually come better this time too
Well for one nate isn't half the pressure fighter nick is, although I often see people acting like he is. & I already addressed the gassing in my last comment. & no shit I realize Diaz will be better this time dummy. Last time he only had 11 days to prepare. Of course he'll be better. I guess I'm in the minority but I think Conor is capable of knocking nate out without too much trouble if he picks his shots & doesn't swing like a mad man.

your comments simply make no sense - but i sense you wont back down and will think you're right either way, so its okay - i think you're confused how conor will actually win - at least have a clear path to his victory in your mind - hes going to pick his shots and save energy but hes going to get the ko? is he going go win a decision or win via ko? if hes going to win via ko, the last fight was actually good for him - he landed a ton of heavy shots but wasnt able to get it done - is he instead going to outpoint diaz? then, he better last 5 rounds against someone that most people rightfully consider an exceptional pressure fighter - that seems unlikely to me

i think if conor wants to win, the way the last fight went was a good way to go - he didnt get it done last time, but blasting nate early seems like his best chance

Lol bro. You're making this harder to understand than it really is. Last time he went wild throwing hay makers. This time I think he'll pick his shots. Instead of trying to force the ko like last time, he'll just fight naturally & let it come to him. You feel me now?

i dont think that strategy is as well thought out as you think - he landed great shots last time, a lot of straight punches, hooks , uppercuts etc - your characterization that he just threw wild haymakers is stupid - you could argue that he could tone down the kicks, but to conor's words, he gassed bc he hit air a lot, including with the punches - he doesnt have a reach advantage like at 145 - with more calculated output, nate will be able to pressure more

basically, i get your simplistic idea that he should be more efficient, you're repeating what his narrative - but his loss came for a lot of other factors that had more to do w nate's toughness and cardio - this isnt a fight that conor can just switch on and win w some adjustments - this is a really ahrd fight for him -

i still think his best chance is early ko like he tried for last time - he was landing a ton of really hard nice shots early

Do you have to act so haughty bro? Its annoying af to talk to someone who constantly acts like they know more. & no, I'm not repeating a narrative. I actually watch the fights. Watch how he fought Holloway vs how he fought nate. Its like 2 different fighters. His striking didn't look near as sharp vs nate. Against nate he didn't set anything up. He just swung with hard shots. Against Holloway he was laying traps. I think if he modifies the way he fought against Holloway a little he can beat Diaz. & stop trying to sound smart bro. This is sherdog so you just come off like a prick.

If he takes his time and actually paces himself he can just win a decision.

Not a Conor fan any more than I'm a Nate fan but if you asked how I think Conor could win I would say by (T)KO, probably.

Yeah I think this talk of effiecient energy is shit. He HAS to KO him stiff, he has to punch like a mofo, he can't just outpoint Diaz.

He could win a decision but it's not his easiest path that's for sure

There was no luck in Bisping's win. Just pure punch, right placement. Light's out.
So after watching Bisping/Rockhold 1 you saw Bisping knocking Rockhold out in the 2nd fight? If you say yes you are a liar. If you think it's 100% impossible for Diaz to get knocked out you are just dumb.

I thought Rockhold would win. I still thought Bisping had a chance; he's fought the who's-who's. I can see Diaz getting knocked out, I was drunk yesterday and made that thread. But it'll be hard.

something about efficiency and steak

no it's movement bro. he not only trains w Ido but watches animals move. idk if he does it over TV or goes to Zoos but he watches them and absorbs their movements.

I think Nate will win, like I thought Rockhold would win. Anything is possible this is MMA.

Why?

Part of his problem, much like other high profile fighters who have lost recently, was he believed his hype. He went into the bout thinking 'I'm going to KO him with one shot" when the truth is, virtually nobody KOs Nate Diaz with one punch.

With insight from experience, superior strategy in regards to keeping the fight standing, and the ability to pot shot Diaz from the outside, I think it's entirely within the realm of possibility that McGregor can outpoint Diaz.
