I was so nervous for obvious reasons during the fourth and fifth round that I couldn't clearly see what was going on. Man.... Khabib dominated him during 5 rounds, totally outclassed him and basically toyed him.
I know he's not top 10 but come on he's a professional UFC fighter after all. Khabib is just that good.

Btw. to all the people saying that he only "has wrestling"... is not that a circular argument? If that's the case then Conor only "has striking". The fact of the matter is that Khabib has striking and Conor has grappling but just not elite.

I saw the fight differently today also (sober, and not nervous about Khabib's game backfiring).

I expect no less coming from a guy with Khabib as his avi.

<[analyzed}>

Only on Sherdog can a fighter win 50-43 and be a bum afterwards.

Khabib just walked up and took Conor's shit and Conor was too scared to do a damn thing about it.

Cucked.

Typical throw back fight striker vs grappler conor vs khabib. comes down to conors grappling vs khabibs striking

Khabib was exposed, i see him completely different after this fight. Al is an average wrestler... IF he fights someone who can stuff those takedowns like al did later on he's in big trouble, i love how he said at the presser i could take him down at any time but he failed on half of his takedwon attempts and almost every single one in round 4 and the end of 5 and till the end. I wish Ortega was on this card i can see him destroying khabib if he took it on short notice i dunno.. just didnt like that performance at all. Remember al trained for a kickboxer and a 3 rounder.

After watching this fight, I now think he has little chance against GSP.

It could be that or people are just really underestimating Iaquinta. He hasn't fought often as of late, so it's hard to gauge him and definitively say that he's an "average" wrestler. He could be a really good one at this point, could be a better striker than we all think too.

The only problem when fighting a guy with power in his hands. Is that the fight isn’t over until it’s over. Any time it’s on the feet the fight is possibly a fraction of a second from being over.

But Khabib has a serious chin. I honestly thought the chances that he’d get ko’d were very small.

Really......? He is 26 - 0 and beat RDA and yet he sucks.......really?

Go away troll.........

I can't disagree but I still want to watch this fight. As you can see GSP is my #2 fav fighter. Btw, I do rank GSP higher than Fedor but he will always be my fav fighter.

DO you know what a troll is? I have been watching MMA when you were in your diapers Mr 2016. Fucking kids join Sherdog and think they know everything. He was exposed pure and simple his striking is subpar and beating RDA means something? So did Eddie Alvarez and Jeremy Stephens shut your mouth you MMA noob. (yes I'm bringing up Stephens i can also bring up Tibau since this fool is bringing up RDA who fought him ages ago.) I also never said he sucks, i said he was exposed.

How you saw the fight today? More dominance from Khabib?
Pretty much. Last night in the moment, I was very anxious as a Khabib fan, wishing he wouldn't stay in the one range where he's most likely to get caught. The tension made the rounds feel closer than they were, (like wtf are you doing??!!)
Today, already knowing the outcome and watching rounds 3-4-5 on mute, it's much easier to see that Khabib was in control the entire fight. There was no indication that he "couldn't" take Al down in rounds 3 and 4, just that he decided not to try. If he ever sensed danger, I think he would've quickly reverted to his modus operandi.

I'm not big on hypotheticals, but it also occurred to me today whilst watching this fight again that Khabib would probably have more first round finishes with a ten minute first round.

alright pal we will take you seriously... lets start.. tell me exactly which round, which minute he was exposed. I need details.

khabib isnt just a wrestler tho hes a sambo guy, a lot of people dont know what the fuck theyre talking about when it comes to sambo. just look at last night with every1 saying his takedown game is trash because he was like 6/15 or something like that. in sambo its not always about securing a takedown and fully committing to getting one, just grabbing a leg/ankle to make your opponent go on the defensive and spend energy is a successful technique.

if he wanted to grind iaquinta down for 25 minutes he could have but he went away from the gameplan and struck for 2 rounds and he went for some half-assed ankle picks and singles during those rounds as well. round 5 he bullied him right back down like he did in rounds 1 and 2, so its not like he was exhausted to the point where he could no longer take al down because in round 5 he went right back to what he was doing in the 1st/2nd round

So, mister mma knowledge, if Khabib was 'exposed' in a 50-43 landslide win over Al, how badly exposed was Konour after being tapped by Nate then barely winning a majority decision in the rematch that many thought he lost?

My issue is that a lot of guys go the distance with him. Al on no notice just did. I think HSP beats him handily.
