I could see Conor catching Khabib while Khabib comes in wild with his punches but I say Khabib mauls Conor for 5 rounds with ease. Conor has a punchers chance in that fight and that's it.
I agree that Pettis should've won the alvarez fight. But he got backed up so easy. Conor put some ridiculous pressure on Mendes & I don't see Pettis reacting well to that. I'd love to see it tho. They're my fave LW's & both are exciting as hellAlvarez was getting smacked around during the exchanges, and pretty much spent the match holding Pettis against the cage. I don't see Conor doing that. Conor's fantastic at using range. He isn't going to be holding Anthony against the cage, trying for takedowns. Without the threat of a takedown, Showtime will be more active with his strikes. I just don't see how Conor matches up with Pettis. I like Conor as a fighter, but Pettis is just a dangerous fight.
like anderson eh?Khabib is never going to earn big money coz he has a boring fight style and he can't speak English very well
Can't imagine him on jimmy Kimmel
Chad is one of my favourites no doubt and undoubtedly he is a very good athlete, but that doesn't mean he has great BJJThats selling mendes short. Hes p4p one of the best athletes in mma. Many have called him a freak athlete.
Connor doesn't need space to strike like Pettis does.... McGoat consistently moves foward... Pettis would be on the defensive from the opening bell. I think you're underestimating how good Conor's mma footwork isI'm holding off on Aldo until the rematch. It could be another Junior-Cain issue. It isn't just pressure that beats Pettis. It's the threat of the takedown. Conor needs space to strike, and he isn't going to be trying to take Pettis to the ground. Showtime's striking arsenal is more diverse than Aldo's, and I think Conor has trouble with Pettis ability to strike from anywhere.
like anderson eh?
Khabib outstruck RDA on the feet and technique wise is probably the best wrestler in the UFC, maybe in all of MMA. I see a rematch going very similar. My thoughts:
#1. Joe was in love with Khabib the entire fight.
#2. Khabib's stand up offense was pretty bad. Just wild swinging and jumping to get the TD.
#3. Khabib's stand up defense was pretty decent except when he was attacking.
#4.Khabib's main offense was holding. Holding against the fence, holding on the ground. Just holding man. He did have some success with GnP in round 3 but, never hurt RDA. RDA was just basically held onto the entire fight.
#4.RDA is better now. I think he hits harder and is more explosive. Otherwise, his style is pretty much the same.
In a rematch I think RDA wins. I think Conor beats them both.
Who knows, Khabib is a hard worker and guys like Cruz and Adrian Peterson for football came back from nasty knee injuries and now they look better than ever.Probably worse after all his injuries.
Except that most people didn't think that because of the savage beating he put on mizugaki.Funny how most said the same about Cruz going into the Dillashaw fight. Nurmagomedov is an absolute beast at LW.
Nah most still though TJ would finish him. Cruz=goatExcept that most people didn't think that because of the savage beating he put on mizugaki.
Conor got back to his feet almost every time Mendes took him down, then he ko'd him....you might want to rewatch that fight.RDA is tough as hell, very strong and very good on the mat (3rd degree black belt) - don't be surprised that Khabib couldn't do much more then hold when they were on the ground. Conor does not have that level of a ground game - hell he couldn't even get a natural 135 pounder off of him. Whats Mcgregor's weakness? As with many European fighters (and we saw it in the Mendes fight) = grappling - what's Khabib best at = Grappling
??? he looked up at the ref so many times because he didn't know what else to do - watch the end of the first round when the bell saves him. I think u need to rewatchConor got back to his feet almost every time Mendes took him down, then he ko'd him....you might want to rewatch that fight.
You don't know jackshit, you're just nuthugging.Khabib has never lost unlike Connor and RDA
Khabib is gonna be hungry for that money and that successs while Connor and RDA have had thier fill
you guys are gonna see the monster version of Khabib in 2016
He won't just hold guys down..he will also punch them now
Yet the UFC is keeping him away from Conor.
I agree that Pettis should've won the alvarez fight. But he got backed up so easy. Conor put some ridiculous pressure on Mendes & I don't see Pettis reacting well to that. I'd love to see it tho. They're my fave LW's & both are exciting as hell
Not at all, it's almost the best in the UFC. That and his length make him extremely dangerous. 155 is just a different animal, and Pettis isn't completely ineffective with pressure on him. Without the threat of the takedown, I see him letting his hands and feet fly. We haven't seen anyone with the striking to take Conor out of his game. Pettis has it.Connor doesn't need space to strike like Pettis does.... McGoat consistently moves foward... Pettis would be on the defensive from the opening bell. I think you're underestimating how good Conor's mma footwork is
Ehhhhhh, Dominick Cruz would disagree.Yeah, at best he is at the level he was 2014. Maybe worse, and look how much better other guys in the division have gotten since then. Khabib needs a LOT of Octagon time. Will be an interesting year for him. Needs at least three fights this year.
