He's a little Russian Cain Velasquez
He won't just hold guys down..he will also punch them now
He very much is not. He's a little Russian Cain Velasquez
from the first word I was expecting something like above. My thoughts:
I think Conor beats them both.
Khabib has never lost unlike Connor and RDA
Khabib is gonna be hungry for that money and that successs while Connor and RDA have had thier fill
you guys are gonna see the monster version of Khabib in 2016

Fair enough, you could be right, but I have to disagree simply because I have yet to see enough of McGregor to say how he would do against those type of fighters. From the little I seen against Chad Mendes, I would bet a lot of money that both RDA and Khabib rough him up badly.LOL...I knew the last line would for some ppl.
Conor's countering ability and KO power would catch Khabibs sloppy entrances into the TD. Countering. Conor would catch Khabib pretty easily.
With RDA, its much harder but I dont think he can stand with Conor. He will be at risk the entire time standing. I also dont think he can take those punches so...eventually he will get rocked and finished even if he gets him down a few times. I think RDA will get clipped and hurt even getting him down which will effect him. I also think Conor is a pretty strong and squirrely dude and can scramble out.
I believe Conor is simply on another level of mma striking at this point.... everything you're saying about Showtime's striking is true about Aldo's. I think Conor' s forward pressure and countering ability shut Pettis down....You think he beats Anthony Pettis? Really? How? I'm curious, because I think Pettis is a matchup nightmare of epic proportions. He is a faster, far more dynamic striker, with a completely untrainable skillset, and off the charts athleticism. His creativity matched with his diverse striking arsenal, and his movement makes him the best pure striker in MMA. He is also a world class submission specialist. He has a solid chin too. The book is out on how to beat the current version of Pettis: Crowd him and hold him down at all costs. Conor isn't a grappler. Pettis KO Rd 1.
Thats selling mendes short. Hes p4p one of the best athletes in mma. Many have called him a freak athlete.RDA is tough as hell, very strong and very good on the mat (3rd degree black belt) - don't be surprised that Khabib couldn't do much more then hold when they were on the ground. Conor does not have that level of a ground game - hell he couldn't even get a natural 135 pounder off of him. Whats Mcgregor's weakness? As with many European fighters (and we saw it in the Mendes fight) = grappling - what's Khabib best at = Grappling
Yet Khabib is keeping away from fighting.Yet the UFC is keeping him away from Conor.
I think Conor would push Pettis back to the fence & tee off until the ref pulled him off. Pettis is my second fave LW but his last 2 fights have been eye opening. You think he beats Anthony Pettis? Tibau outstruck him and got the only takedown. Tibau won the fight.

Conor has earned the Jones treatment in that I'll never pick against him again until somebody beats him.
This is what I want from Khabib, he could get much more fans and actually finish fights with GNP, I wish he is more measured when striking too. But Khabib > allKhabib has never lost unlike Connor and RDA
Khabib is gonna be hungry for that money and that successs while Connor and RDA have had thier fill

Alvarez was getting smacked around during the exchanges, and pretty much spent the match holding Pettis against the cage. I don't see Conor doing that. Conor's fantastic at using range. He isn't going to be holding Anthony against the cage, trying for takedowns. Without the threat of a takedown, Showtime will be more active with his strikes. I just don't see how Conor matches up with Pettis. I like Conor as a fighter, but Pettis is just a dangerous fight.I think Conor would push Pettis back to the fence & tee off until the ref pulled him off. Pettis is my second fave LW but his last 2 fights have been eye opening.
