Just rewatched Fedor versus Werdum

Come to Northvale Renzo Gracie BJJ gym and I will show you who the poster is.

And as a fan of the sport a smart man can criticize and make points about the sport just like fans do for football or what not.

STFU. Holy shit you re annoying. Dude Fedor is not gay. Get off his nuts already he does not want you.

Big fucking deal I'm a purple under Saulo Ribeiro affiliated school, what are you going to say now your a brown or something I could care less.

You call me a UFC noob but yet agree with me about one of my points pertaining to Big Nog fighting Ricco in Pride.

You lost it. Go back to sleep little buddy.

I agreed that Nogueira was being controlled that's it,but Ricco lost because he didn't meet the criteria of Pride, what a stooge you are.

Almost fitting that the sport started with BJJ, and it took BJJ to take out for the first time the greatest ever.

Dude........All you are doing ot insulting those that do not worship the manlike you do. Shut the fuck up already and stop being so butt hurt.

I posted that Arona gave him issues and could had easily gotten the decision in that fight if the judge would had given it to him. Plus Arona was a light heavyweight.

I also told you that Big Nog was not as slick from bottom as Werdum or even Frank Mir were. Mir owned him on the ground and also the game chances when you are getting punch in the face.

Aside from Big Nog and Arona Fedor never fought a master BJJ guy meaning that had he fought more BJJ dudes than he may have been tapped out earlier on in his career rather than by Werdum later on.

What other BJJ guys are you talking about? Where are these guys that Fedor didn't fight that were more legit black belts than Minotauro? They sure as hell didn't compete in Pride, the UFC, or Strikeforce. Mainly because they didn't exist then, nor do they now.

You're basically saying "in a hypothetical world where there are 10 Fabricio Werdum clones in the top 10, Fedor wouldn't do very well."

But its not a hypothetical world and there wasn't, and still isn't, any BJJ black belts better than Nog and Mir in HW MMA... except Werdum.

Fedor showed poor fight IQ against Werdum and was tapped. He was absolutely dismantled by Bigfoot, and KTFO by Hendo. Hell he was almost KOed by a Walmart employee. His stint in Strikeforce was awful.

Yep, when the fight was still fresh years ago, pretty much everyone said the same thing. Fedor lacked the fight IQ that night and it costed him. Back then, submission was Werdum's only way to beat Fedor but now (judging by Fedor's lack of any serious training/evolution), I think he could hang with Fedor standing.

This was going on for Fedor in December of 2009:

And I think he got married in the fall of 2009, as well.

He fought Werdum in Summer 2010.

Take a guess what his motivation level was as he trained for Werdum.

Everyone knew it at the time. As someone said above, Fedor's own trainers, I believe, talked about how Fedor was slipping and not taking camps as seriously.

No one stays in his prime forever. Skills and focus and ability fade over time.

A 10-year run at heavyweight is probably about as good as it will ever get.

7 top 5 win.

7 years ranked #1

7 UFC/Pride champions defeated

7 consecutive title fight wins

I CHALLENGE YOU. WHAT HEAVYWEIGHT CAN BEAT THAT?

Fedor catches Werdum at 4:33. He could have let Werdum get up, and repeated his onslaught again until Werdum was really out, but he fell into the Werdum trap of wer-doom. Credit to Werdum, he has been a UFC HeavyWeight champ. He's only lost to the best in the world.

A lesser grappler would have been finished, but Werdum was arguable THE BEST GRAPPLER IN THE WORLD at the time, based on ADCC performance.

The point I'm making is that this was the end of Fedor's reign. Fedor may have lost the will after this, or this may have been the end of his prime. Different fighers have different lifespans when it comes to being in their prime. He may have also slacked off training and started swiggin on some vodka.

He's still the GOAT.

  • He could have beaten Werdum.
  • Werdum is an awesome fighter, Top 5 Heavy Weight all time.
  • Fedor's prime ended around this time.
  • Fedor always came with 100% intensity, never ran, never backed down from a position like Conor or Runereem.
  • Was brave enough to fight the GOAT grappler at his own game and lost.

Why is "was brave enough to fight the goat grappler at his own game and lost" a pro? I love fedor & think he's either the goat or tied for goat, but it's only impressive when you fight someone in their area of expertise if you win, or at least put up a good fight. Fedor was submitted in 69 seconds. Once again, not tryna hate on the hw goat, but it would've been much smarter/bad ass if he'd kept it on the feet against Werdum & won.

It was just a hoax. Fedor has zero defeats. Don't believe what you saw or read.
im more than willing to go with htis line of thinking

well the answer is only Fedor, who could maybe break his own record,if they ever let him back in the UFC.

Frank Mir for one. He would had given Fedor hell on the ground like he did to Big Nog. Mir's main issue would had been him not getting knock out standing with Fedor.

Ricco Rodriguez was another. He submitted Big Nog in grappling and gave him a tough fight in Pride that could should had been given to him as a decision win. His biggest issue was getting hooked on cocaine and being a party animal afterwards.

Werdum fought Fedor and he tapped him out in a minute because he was a better grappler.

Why?

Because BJJ > Sambo in MMA.

Watch Oleg Tatarov vs Renzo Gracie.

And you also have Josh Barnett who was more a catch wrestler but Fedor would had not been able to get position on Barbett the way he did with Big Nog nor would he had been able to sweep a strong catch wrestler like Barnett.
