Just How Good is usman???

I remember James Lynch having a shitty take of this fight stating that "Usman is nowhere near the level of Whittaker, of course Robert will get past Khamzat in the 1st and have a better performance than Usman who's 0-3". Funniest shit take I've seen, he got humbled really quickly after this win.

I don't think Leon had his number, tbh. Caught him with a head kick when he was a minute away for losing and Usman was clearly weary in the third. Came back too soon but when he did pressure Leon in the trilogy, Leon had no idea.
I understand questioning the "validity" of the buzzer KO, but the last fight clearly showed that (at least on that night) Leon was the better fighter. He wasn't a great champ, but the man deserves full respect for that win.

On that night sure, I get that. He was the better fighter against an obviously cautious Usman who came back way too soon.
Prime for Prime Usman wins most of the time. They fought for about 12 rounds, and Usman won most of them.

Usman is the 2nd perosn to walk out of the room after Jon Jones.

The Usman khazmat ragdolled actually slept khamzat? Lmao

Having someone's number doesn't have to mean they are necessarily better than you. It can also mean the stars align most times you fight them. Like Usman kicked Leon's ass in their first fight. Leon landing that head kick at the end of their 2nd fight was a freak upset that came out of no where and almost never happens in fights where one guy is winning so dominantly. Then in their 3rd fight Usman was not able to perform anywhere near as well as the first or 2nd fightt even though he was able to go 3rds with khamzat after rolling off the couch

Yes, yes, Matt is in the discussion as well. I think a strong case can be made for either. My point stands regardless...
Usman having been a WW title holder is giving him his flowers. There is no Discussion re the WW GOAT rankings:
1. GSP
2. Matt Hughes

3. the rest are miles behind. That includes Usman. He is in the discussion weakest title run by measure of his opponents.

He was about to put Khamzat to sleep ? He didn't rock him once. But he went up MW. Still 10-08 first round. But the loss just aged well. Also prime Burns with the Khamzat war and destroying Tyrone looks good now.
Everyone destroyed Woodley after Usman did, though. I don't know what it is about WW, but a lot of fighters look really good then really bad after a key loss and starting to hit their mid-30s. Koscheck, Hendricks, Lawler, Condit, etc. Rory was like 26 when it happened. He never got over Lawler shattering his nose. He's now been retired for a few years and only 35, younger than Belal.

Yeah but Burns got him fresh of the title loss. Of 1 loss.

Not good enough to win that Edwards rematch.
Surviving a takedown and multiple submission attempts from Chimaev is a feat but his offensive wrestling disappeared on him.
